Eagles Nest Tunnel

One of the most iconic and instantly-recognizable locales along the Milwaukee Road Pacific Coast Extension mainline, Eagle's Nest Tunnel and bridge is located in Montana's Belt Mountains area of the Rocky Mountain range. There are many tunnels in this area but none more spectacular or dramatic as Eagle's Nest which is cut into the sheer rock face towering over Sixteen Mile creek. The tunnel empties directly onto a steel viaduct bridge which spans the creek. For this layout diorama I have 3D modeled 2 variants of Milwaukee Road specific catenary, and modeled the steel viaduct as well, including Milwaukee's distinctive ballasted deck. Milwaukee Road promotional literature frequently depicted the stretch of track running alongside Sixteen Mile Creek, which still remains a remote and largely inaccessible area to this day. The trestle itself is still standing, although it is located on private property and may not be accessed by the general public.

This is my first time participating in one of these Rolling Line Jams, and this location jumped out at me, as something that would be neat to model for the occasion. I hope you enjoy visiting this distinctive and secluded location, please give a thumbs up if you like it.

Note: Some people report that there are trains not appearing, I have uploaded this six times and cannot seem to fix it I don't know why since everything should be packed. There should be 1 long freight train running, with 4 GP35s pulling it and a Milwaukee ribside caboose on the end.
