Parking lots with planters


Prolog

Hello again !

This set is something I always wanted to do ! ;) Almost everybody did upload parking
lots sometime... and I wanted to join the club ! ;)

This set wont be anything for the "hardcore" detailers I guess, but it´ll definitely
something for those of you, who want to quickly put down some additional parking
lots.
It looks and works like every "classical" parking lot you´ll find in the workshop.
Nothing fancy, just easy! :D
I use a lot of them in my savegame all the time!

This set here contains a selections of those "all in one" parking lots, I created for
my own use.


About the lots

There are 2 "sets" included.
A grass and a gravel version. They´re "modular, with a mid- and two
end sections.

You´ll find them under the park tabs.


About the models

The models are very light weight ...
ABout 600 tris per lot.
Lods about 30 tris.

These are buidlings, therefore you´ll see the lods all the time. The planters
wont disappear when you zoom out.

You can place them anywhere on the map without the need of a mod.

Every lot uses the same texture, which is also used as a sub mesh within my
Condo#01 - building.

Dependencies

- the liested parking decals (without them no car will park on the lots)

Everybody should use this mod in general.

With the help of the LSM, the needed RAM space for this set will be reduced
to about 500 kb in total.

Thank yyou so much. this is how you upgrade toyr feature projects, add a plants and Vegetation, and you can make a parking lots with asphalt decals from ronyx 69.

Great looking parks, a pity that they have 150 Entertainment by default instead of 0 - would like to just use them as functional parking lots with TMPE.

Hey ! Thank you ! ;) The answer is no ... they dont attract tourist ... I didnt want that to happen because I wanted them only as parking spots for the cims. Parking in general is some kind of a "thing" in the game. The cims tend to use only street parking and/or at the atraction they´re visiting. Hence .. these "work best" at roads without parking and/or with the help of the advanced parking AI provided by TMPE. So ... it might be something for you. But you of course have to live with the general parking behavior in this game ... ;)

Hi Clus, thanks for everything you do. I love your stuff (Super Toll). Do these parking lots act like parks? I have a lot of parking in my city, where apartments are mixed with roads that don't allow parking, and they are very fast to place down, but I find the tourist flock to them like fleas. Is this asset a park too?

Yep. The AI always prefers street parking ... they rarely park at buildings...and in most cases only, when they're "visiting" the building...thats how the game works.
These parking lots can t be visitied ...
I decided against that in order to prevent unnecessary tourist traffic ...therfore i suggest tmpe and/or the usage of these lots near streets without street parking.

@Angry Chimp - I've noticed that parking use can vary a lot, and that's even with TMPE's better parking AI; I have no idea if it's even worth it without also using Traffic Manager (which is a mod I can't really play without these days). If there's roadside or building parking, they'll usually take that first. That said, as soon as I change nearby roads to ones with no parking (or forbid it using TMPE for that segment), any nearby parking lots fill up nicely.

It also becomes a lot more important as the city grows and density goes up (logically).
