Early Start Pack - Farm and Construction

In 1 collection by argent
Pre 1960 early start transport
130 items
Description
A pack of early start vehicles. They are based on vanilla vehicles.
They are intended to function until I am able to improve the mods and allow use without delay of earlier start farm and construction equipment in-game (avoiding 'fix' workarounds).

I am intending to add additonal vehicles ongoing. I thought I would share these with others who are also early start enthusiasts. Any offers of help with modelling gratefully received.

The modelling is not accurate being borrowed from vanilla for the interim, but the vehicles and their statistics are researched and accurate, with a view to balance game parameters.

Bulldozer: Stalinets S-65 1937 to 1958
(incorporates Stalinets S-80 1946 to 1958 see notes)

Tractor: Zetor 25K 'The Stork' 1949 to 1961

Harvester Combine: Stalinets S-4 1947 to 1958

Excavator: DT-54A tractor with extending S-U blade* 1949 to 1963
(*assumption with hydraulic extending attachment as an excavator. There was a variation that was 'a multifunctional unit suitable for use in construction and light industry')

I am grateful for some great help on discord from dlseis, blue_bro, judge nyxyx and ryantheskinny with my first vehicle mod.

Additional Notes

The Stalinets S-65 was a very popular tractor-bulldozer the first variation being the S-60 in 1932 at the Chelyabinsk tractor factory. The more powerful S-65 from 1937 weighing 11 tonnes had a diesel engine generating 65kW (useful power 50-56kW). This S-65 model was replaced in 1946 at Chelyabinsk tractor factory with the S-80 (based on the Caterpillar D7 design). This had an effective (useful) power of 60-65kW. At this time we have one model designated S-65 and given a kW rating of 60kW. The in-game S-100 seems to integrate some earlier S-80 properties.

The Zetor 25K agricultural tractor was a variation of the Zetor 25 which was produced by the Zbrojovka Brno factory from 1946. It was succeeded by the 25A in 1949 with a hydraulic lift and then a specialised crop version the 25K from 1949 nicknamed 'The Stork'. The engine produced 20kW. About 55,000 were produced.

The Stalinets S-4 was a highly successful self propelled combine harvester, the early variations starting from 1947. Earlier combines were produced and in 1937 the Soviet Union produced 44,000 - the largest production in the world (the US was 29,000). The S-4 variations were powered by a 5.6L 39kW ZIS-120 otto engine. It was produced at the Krasnoyarsk, Tula and Taganrog combine harvester plants and the Syzranselmash plant. It was later built under licence by IFA as the Forstschritt E171-177 until 1967, and was powered by a diesel engine.

The DT-54, a continuous tracked agricultural tractor and its variations were a legend in design and production. A well know predecessor was the SHTZ_NATI. The DT-54 was first produced at the Stalingrad tractor factory in 1949 (and also the Kharkhov plant later), and continued until its final variation the DT-54ki. All together the Soviet Union produced 958,000 units. There were many variations, mostly for agricultural purposes although it is noted that there was a variation which was 'a multifunctional unit suitable for use in construction and light industry'. For this game we have taken a variation to provide some very low level construction functions, and classified it as an excavator (as this assists with terrain mechanics inter alia). The model used is a vanilla excavating one, and I will replace it later with something more like the DT-54A variation we need here. I chose this interim model so in-game it can be seen functionally as an excavator rather than an agricultural tractor or bulldozer look-a-like.

Of course, the DT-54 tractor in the role of an excavator ruins everything. I think the early excavator should be properly registered. There are plenty of models to choose from. Tracked - MPP-0.75 "Kostromich" 1932, DEZ MK-1 1934, M1-DV-035 1935. The first wheeled excavators E-255 and E-363 appeared only in 1950.
Well, the DT-54 tractor needs to be made as a separate model.

Hello mate,

not sure if it´s your mod.

Thomas, you are welcome. I am creating a large pack based on the ZIS-5V starting in 1942. It has many vehicles (including the mixer and cement requested), firetruck, ambulance, oil cistern and a transporter that will carry the construction bulldozer or excavator.
