Purpose
A Party is a event you can create that allows you to earn relationship points with several characters at once. Parties become available after you complete main quest for building South Block. At a party it is important to serve the correct dishes if you want to maximize the relationship points you receive at the party's end.

This guide will help you prepare a party and get the most out of it.
Requirements
You will need at least one Banquet Table and one Invitation Letter in order to host a party. Both can be purchased at the South Block Trade Store. The crafting recipe for the Banquet Table may be purchased as well.

South Block Trade Store
The store is situated across from the bus station in South Block and is open from 07:00 - 22:00.

Preparing the Party
Once you have Invitations and placed a Banquet Table on the ground, interact with it to start the party. Approach the Banquet Table and you'll be given a list of options.

Menu Options
  • Sit
  • Hold to Arrange the Dishes
  • Prepare a Party
  • Pick up

Select "Prepare a Party" and you will be taken to the next choice which contains a bit of confusing text, saying that your party has already started. Don't be fooled - the party has not started yet - you must select "Yes" on this screen to actually start the party.

Menu Options
  • Yes
  • No

After selecting "Yes" you will be taken to a screen where you can select the Date of the Party. On this screen, Today is in Yellow and the date selected is in Dark Blue. You can only throw one party a week, and thus the days prior to today, and the days after one week are crossed out in Red

Next, select a time for the Party.

Once you have done all this, the party will actually be scheduled and you can start Inviting Guests and Arranging Food for the Party.
Inviting Guests
You can invite guests to your Party by giving them Invitation Letters through the Gifting Interface to anyone except pets. Note that this counts towards the Gift Limit for the day for that character. Each character has a random chance of accepting the invitation based on your relationship level with them.

It is recommended that you invite only 10 guests per banquet table, as there are only 10 seats around each banquet table (you do not have to be seated at your own party). You can invite more, but they will just stand around and not give a reward at the end.

Note that the invitation letter will not show up in your inventory on the gifting screen, but in the special gifts menu on the bottom-left.

If the character accepts the invitation you will earn 2 relationship points with that character. If they do not accept the invitation, it is possible to repeat giving the invitation every day up to and including the day of the party.

* If you have a romantic partner (), they will always accept the invitation.
** If you are married (), your spouse will always attend the party even if you do not invite them, so make sure you save them a seat at the banquet table.
Arranging the Dishes
Once you have a guest list, it's time to start Arranging the Dishes on the Banquet Table. Approach the table again, but this time select the Hold to Arrange the Dishes option.

Menu Options
  • Sit
  • Hold to Arrange the Dishes
  • Prepare a Party
  • Pick up

This will open up a new menu, where you can place Food items on the Banquet Table. Each table holds 20 slots for food. The food is placed inside the banquet table similar to other storage furniture, as shown below.

Each guest will eat up to two dishes at the party, and will give relationship points based on how much they liked the dish. The amount of relationship points earned depends on how much they like receiving that food item as a Gift.

+ 18-20
2-9 (Like)

Planning the Dishes
In order to assist with planning the dishes for a party, the following is a link to a spreadsheet[docs.google.com] of the different characters, their food preferences, and where you can obtain or craft that food item.
* The data is current for the PC release as of version 2.0.137882 and may not apply to the console versions
Hosting the Party
Once you have given out the invitations and arranged all the dishes for your party, all you have to do is wait. In fact, you don't even have to do that as the party will start and end without your presence at all (you will still get the relationship points).

Two hours before the party starts you will get a notification. Guests start to arrive about an hour before the party starting time.Once the party starts the guests will eat food if it is available. The party will continue for three hours after which the guests leave and you receive a relationship bonus depending on the food they have eaten.

During the party you will have an opportunity to Add food items to the Banquet Table as the guests begin to eat. Guests will not eat more than two dishes, however, so you should only add more food to the table if you think a guest has not eaten a dish they will Love.
Rewards
After the party is over you will receive a relationship bonus for each guest per dish (up to two) that they ate at the party.

Achievements
In addition, there are some achievements you can earn by throwing parties.

Name
Condition
Party Time!

Party Master
Throw ten parties.
Final Thoughts
Here are a few extra things to keep in mind when planning a party.
  • Your spouse () will start a mission the day before both your birthday and their birthday, requesting that you throw a party on the day of the birthday. Since they give practically no notice, you'll want to have prepared a guest list and crafted food items in advance.
  • Ack and Papa Bear (Abu) will never accept Invitation Letters, but giving them one counts towards their daily gift limit.
  • Ginger, Sophie, and Yeye are slow walkers, and are unlikely to arrive to your workshop in time to attend a party.
  • If you have a romantic partner (), they will always accept the Invitation Letter.
  • If you are married (), your spouse will always attend the party even if you do not invite them, so make sure you save them a seat at the banquet table.
  • The relationship points earned from gifting the Invitation Letter are effected by Event and Birthday multipliers.
  • The relationship points earned at the end of the party are not effected by Event and Birthday multipliers.
  • You can place the special Permanent Consumables[mytimeatportia.fandom.com] as dishes to eat at a party as they count as Food items, but there is no benefit for doing so.
  • If a guest was unable to eat a dish you will receive 0 relationship points with that guest. This could be because:
    • The guest did not arrive on time to the party
    • The guest was unable to find a place to sit at the party
    • The guest disliked or hated all the dishes provided
    • You did not provide enough dishes to eat
  • The dishes eaten at a party do NOT include the same dishes when eaten during the Dining event () on a Play Date.

For low-effort party, I just stuff the table with Roasted Meat, it's easy to make. And if it seems like I'm running out of anything, I just stuff Apricot Juice, it's fast to make on Blender. Both count as neutral to most citizens but give the same as "like"

great guide but would like to add, for the slow characters you can pause the clock by interacting with an npc and waiting for them to arrive.
