Nazamara, Chechen Republic

In the Chechen Wars, Nazamara was a City which passed over hands many times between the newly formed Armed Forced of the Russian Federation and the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, supported by foreign volunteers of the Mujahideen, the Green Sea Emirate of Takistan, the UNA-UNSO, and even Chernarusian National Party extremists, who believed the Russians were their mortal enemy.

Nazamara was heavily damaged In the massive fighting which saw hundreds of casualties on both sides, and even more so In the civilian populace, which fled In all directions at the beginning of the war. The ones who stayed were stubborn to keep their homes Intact. Many failed, some didn't.

The City was eventually captured by Russian Forces In 1995, which opened the door to capturing Grozny.
