DeadlandZ is an open-world post-apocalyptic survival sandbox scenario that guarantees hours of challenging singleplayer gameplay similarly to the original DayZ experience, built upon some of the best community content available to date.

To launch the scenario, you must have installed the Arma 3: Contact Expansion and the latest versions of all required mods as listed on the right side of the Workshop page. This includes the Heros Survive mod, which was removed from the workshop officially. There is now an unofficial reupload available, which will serve as a temporary solution. Due to this change, CBA and ACE (without medical system) are now also required. The scenario has not been tested with any other mods than the listed ones. Using other mods may lead to possibly game-breaking issues. Please do not report issues you encountered while using additional mods.


DeadlandZ is a spin-off to the popular workshop scenario DayZero created by CaptainX11.
It intends to raise the standards for singleplayer survival in Arma 3 thanks to various features and scripts and hundreds of hours invested in its development by an experienced mission maker.


DeadlandZ is no longer in development and will remain an unfinished project. It is playable, but there are known issues. There will be no further updates since a core mod is no longer being updated. This has broken some major game features, like item interaction. So please do not waste your time reporting them. Thank you for your understanding. Maybe there will be an Arma 4 some day and then I will certainly get back to making these kinds of scenarios again...


It is the year 2025. The world has become a dark wasteland as a destructive
zombie apocalypse was just written in history. Scientists believe that the outbreak's origin
laid in the hands of a yet unknown extraterrestrial force.

You will enter the perspective of Alan Nowak, a former Livonian police officer from Nadbor,
who is among the few civilians chosen for accommodation in an underground military bunker. However, Alan is forced out of the hideout when a horde of zombies passes through the gates and fatally enters the facility due to a grave mistake made by Livonian Defence Force guards.

After you exit the bunker, you will be on your own and everything will be your choice.

Survive. There is no way back.
