Unlocking Bonus Mission | HL:Decay PC Port

Do you ever wonder how to unlock Bonus Mission in Half-life Decay?
Or maybe you just want to play Decay without any restrictions?
Anyway, this guide will show you how to unlock it and how to play any locked mission.

Originally I didn't thought about making this guide for Steam, but after some time I was thinking "What if I'm gonna make another version of my guide but for HL community in Steam? Why not? Didn't want to die alone anyway".

Introduction

Bonus Mission «Xen Attacks» is a secret short mission, where player(s) are able to play as vortigaunt(s). Fan PC Port also Includes it.

There three ways to unlock it:

• First requires from player(s) to get «A Grade Score» in all 9 missions.
  (Can be hard for non-hardcore players)
  
• Second requires player(s) to unlock Easter Egg.
  
• Third requires only one console command.
  (People who wonder how to unlock locked missions, skip to «Console method» section).

1. Easter Egg method

Probably is the most interesting than any of these methods.
You need to unlock Easter egg in Mission 5 «Domestic Violence» (dy_dorms).
But before unlocking it, player(s) must find three hidden parts of combination.
Each part of combination has lambda sign somewhere around them.

• First part is located in the vending machine (South Wing). To get the part of combination, you have to break it.
  
• Second part is located above restroom of swimmin pool in the vents. Player(s) must to break vent grid to get the code.
  
• Third can be found in Freeman's dorm room (North Wing). You need to press «use key» on the sink. And only after that it will appear in the mirror.

After you found all parts of combination, you need go back to South Wing of the dorms.

2. Easter Egg method

After you come back to South Wing, you need to «use key» on the picture with Rosenberg.
Only after that, activation panel will open and you will be able to activate combination.



If you done everything right, one of the doors in South Wing should open.
You will find in the room two Displacer cannons from Opposing Force, you need to take one and teleport yourself. Some time wandering around you will find zombie and scientist.
Do NOT kill the zombie or else you will break scripted sequence making it impossible to complete this level.
Once you get out of the lab, you need back to Activation panel, so you could unlock Bonus Mission. After activation, you can load «Xen Attacks» (dy_alien) anytime you want even without completing main campaign of Decay.

Console command method

For this method, you just need to know one console command.
Console command also not only unlocks Bonus mission, but also ALL locked missions if player(s) didn't complete them before.
Console command is «euukraine visafree».
It will NOT work in the main menu. To make it work, you need to:

• Start any map you want (for example dy_alien).
  
• Open console and enter «euukraine visafree».
  
• Restart the server.
  
• Done.

Important note:
Console command will be active UNTIL you close the game.
If you actually complete one level with that command on, you wouldn't need to type it every time after that.

I can't believe i thought the 2nd option was real. For anyone wondering what i am talking about there's no lambdas near the vending machines, there's no secret in the vents and you can't interact with the sink.
