Description
This is the first scenario I publish, so give bug feedback or a like.

Craftable Epics, for the golden age
I designed this configuration mod as a subset of the game changes I have been playing for a long time now. This works in single player and does not change play balance significantly enough to make multiplayer any less fun, if not more.

Apologies when you start the game it looks like the "preview" is a question mark, that's because the game does not understand animated giff files, but Steam does understand them.

Best played with medium tech advances, and every other setting amped up to hardest difficulty. If you are a senior gamer like myself, you will probably be playing on this kind of difficulty setting, and love the ability to get epics without risking your life.
  • Almost all epic items are craft-able, you will need the prior-level item to the epic, an Advanced constructor, some gold and a few other rare materials for each epic item.
  • Bio fuel is a bit easier to make. Chainsaw runs for a bit longer.
  • T2 shield gen
  • Suit boosters are craft-able
  • NEW Starting pod gives you sensible starting resources and weapons
I may have left a gift in one of the large constructors.

Upcoming changes
So this 'mod' has been in my vanilla folder for almost a year now as a bunch of manual file edits. I have written a guide some time ago on how to do this kind of thing yourself, but my guide is even out of date now with the new scenarios system. I'm really waiting for feedback on this mod to make any improvement tweaks to the crafting recipes before I move on. But...
  • I plan to add the flamethrower/flamethrowerT2 as a craft-able item. DONE!
  • Craftable flamethrower fuel
  • To tweak the number of ingots yielded by smelting ores to get you more of the raw materials.
  • I want to drop light armour suit + boosters into the "starting conditions" inventory DONE
  • Add epic pistol to the starting inventory
If this works out, I might do a merge with the awesome Project Eden https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2276751921 and upload that as an option. Bigger ideas, like merging with Reforged is not something I want to do try to do, it's a huge job, and especially since I prefer to play this game with CPU and with W/V turned off altogether, not worth my while yet.

As always, if you want something changed, let me know below, and if you want a "refresh" or update, likewise, just bump the thread, it's not hard for me to "update" this scenario at all, it literally takes 5 minutes. If you want to learn how to do this yourself, do remind me to write this up in a guide.

Thank you, definitely. I made a false start at getting back into rebooting this scenario a while ago in version 1.5, and did get a few lessons from that. And a lot of kind people have been keen on helping with it. So I will keep that in mind @Myrmidon.

Sadly, not. I tend to only play every few month, and by that time, Eleon have made some game changes or modding changes that mean I have to do it all over again. It's really too much work for a person who has a real life job, more than one hobby, 2 kids, a cat and still wants 7 hours of sleep. Once Eleon stop messing about I'll come back to this, I have a few folk who have helped make scenario changes of their own, so we can do this, but it just takes too long to test each tweak.

Yeah @mirmidon, very much alive and kicking. I should have to install that and see how well it does, each time I installed any apps for the game I found them a tad over complex to use, so have never really given it much of a chance to be fair. I'm more mostly busy playing a few relaxing story-based games of late, and made a new Steam Group or games-list. That has been keeping me busy to be fair. Modding might finally start being a thing, I know I tried to work it out but I've never had the time investment it would need.

Hey @zaphodikus, how is it going? The author of EPD got some new versions to check them out and I did some testing with them, talking with him on the forums for issues and ideas here and there. Seems EPD now does load custom scenarios and their assets as well. If you like give it a try to see how you can improve your current scenario and use the tool for future work. It looks like eleon decided to change the numerical item ID's , after I did ask and got a rather cryptic answer about how the ID's work, and the fact that the EPD tool apparently broke after 1.5, means a tiny bit of manual copy-paste.

I'll publish the updated scenario with a new name and then update/copy it back here once it's working to prevent too much mucking about with the workshop churning/re-downloading repeatedly, will post a link to folk can test it again, hopefully tonight. Just need to remember how this all works LOL - at least I have some recall of it all.

Oh, hi there Myrmidon. To be honest I did go through a low patch, but mostly just because life has been busy and i was not actually spending much time playing many games at all even at one point. which probably did lead to the low point.

Yes, was unable to work out why 4 armour mod slots is the maximum that works. I'll need to do some programming to continue to maintain this mod. but now that I'm started on playing games again (also playing NMS now too unfortunately.) I'll be able to give this an update. Expect some turbulence.
