Russian National Soviet Republic (Komi - TNO)

Description
The Komi Republic is a young, nightmarishly chaotic democratic republic formed in the aftermath of the West Russian War. Based around the city of Syktyvkar, Komi boasts a democratic constitution and a multi-party democracy, but the true nature of Komi's political scene is an endlessly fractured shadow battleground; former Soviet officicals, sidelined Russian democrats, far-right radicals, and all other sorts of political exiles have found a footing in the Komi Republic and competes for total control over the Republic, with bloody paramilitary clashes happening beneath the seemingly quiet surface. Syktyvkar has become a Pandora's Box of extremist ideas, and all hell may be let loose should the Box be opened.

Ivan Alexandrovich Serov is everything the Soviet Union wanted: a committed socialist, a Russian patriot, and a loyal ex-NKVD chief. And yet, the Soviet downfall planted a seed of doubt in Serov's mind, which intensified during his days in Syktyvkar. The agonizing doubts eventually forced Serov to question his beliefs and develop his own theories, ideas that coalesced into the Manifesto of Ordosocialism, a new type of socialism with a nationalistic zeal that can avert the Bukharinist failures. Suslov will certainly expel Serov over his heretical theories, but Serov's mind had cleared, and he has become committed; Ordosocialism shall change the future of Russia forever.

Commie Nazis: Ivan Serov creates a new type of socialism, "Ordosocialism", that blends together Marxist-Leninist orthodoxy with chauvinist Russian nationalism and some actual fascist policies. The whole thing ultimately resembles a Russian version of Ba'athism—in fact, Serov explicitly supports Ba'athist revolutionaries in the Middle East in his diplomacy focuses.

Cult of Personality: The focus "The Guiding Star" creates a cult of personality for General Secretary Serov.

Defector from Decadence: Serov, initially a member of the Komi Communist Party, developed Ordosocialism as a synthesis of his nationalist tendencies and his socialist beliefs. When Suslov found out about Ordosocialism, he becomes furious and boots Serov from the Communist Party, resulting in Serov joining Gumilyov's Passionariyy Organization.

Dirty Communists: A more left-wing Ordosocialism resembles a really racist and chauvinist version of Marxism-Leninism. A more right-wing Ordosocialism resembles National Syndicalism-lite instead.

Historical Villain Upgrade: While Serov was a brutal KGB General who participated in many of the atrocities of the USSR (and was a bit of a casual antisemite), he historically did not advocate for a mix of Marxism-Leninism and ultranationalism which argued that only Russians can achieve socialism.

Irony: Considering how he has a conspiracy theory blaming Koreans for Russia's problems, it is ironic that the best historical equivalent to his ideology is Juche in North Korea in how it combines Marxism-Leninism with ultranationalist ideas.

A Nazi by Any Other Name: Downplayed; Serov has the Nazi brutality, fanaticism, militarism, and racism (and is classified as a National Socialist by the game), and he can optionally adopt fascist-styled corporatism, but he does maintain a lot of actual socialist policies.

Politically Incorrect Villain: Serov is racist against Russian minorities, and it is implied that he justifies his racism as a socialist one with his theory of "Hereditary Reactionaries" in his Ordosocialism Manifesto. In one event that happens after Serov unites Western Russia, he introduces a socialist People's Provisions Package, but excludes minorities like Armenians from participating in it. One of the later events also sees Serov developing a crazy anti-Korean conspiracy theory which thinks that the Koreans are behind many of Russia's problems.Serov's cabinet consists of a host of ministers, who, like Serov, are both hardline Communists and anti-semites, some of whom are associated with the antisemetic Doctors' plot in the Soviet Union.

The Political Officer: Serov reinstates the old Soviet Union's commissar system to ensure the military's loyalty to Ordosocialism.

The Purge: The "Mamlukization" is a Stalinist purge that Serov enacts after uniting Western Russia, purging individuals within the government that may potentially harbor dissenting thoughts against Serov or Ordosocialism.

Right Hand vs. Left Hand: The Ordosotsialisty party has both a left-wing faction and a right-wing faction, and occupies both the National Socialist and Authoritarian Socialist parties on Serov's political party chart after he unifies the regionals. The player, through decisions and national focuses, can strengthen either the left or the right wing of the Ordosocialists.

The Sixth Ranger: He joins the far-right alliance of Gumilyov right after Suslov dismisses him, quickly gathering influence among the dissatisfied bases of both radical wings and establishing himself as a political player in his own right.
