General Information
OPERATION PHOENIX ENDED ON JUNE 11TH 2014! Operation Phoenix cases are now dropping for everyone, not only coin holders. I hope everyone enjoyed it and is excited for the next operation!

Operation Phoenix was pretty similar to the previous two Operations (namely Payback and Bravo). With the purchase of an Operation Pass you got to play popular community-made maps on the official Valve servers in Deathmatch, Casual or Competitive game modes. You also got an upgradable coin which shows competitive stats. Furthermore you were able to get exclusive Operation Phoenix case drops in addition to your regular timed drops. After the operation ended they went non-exclusive. If you didn't want to buy an Operation pass, you were still free to play on every included map, you just weren't able to play them on the official Valve servers unless you joined a friend who had purchased a pass. A convenient place to get the mapfiles for offline play or setting up your own server is the Steam Workshop. For workshop links click on the name of the map in the map section of this guide.

Keep in mind that Operation Phoenix was only available until June 11th, 2014. So the earlier you bought it the longer you were able to use it. The full price for a pass was $2.99, but it was put on sale multiple times during the operation. For more information on a specific topic you can check out the respective section of this guide.

The official information page on this Operation can be found here:

Operation Phoenix Maps
Operation Phoenix brought back eight maps that got the most votes from the community.

Four bomb defusal (de_) maps:
- Cache (Bravo)
- Seaside (Payback & Bravo)
- Ali (Bravo)
- Favela (Payback)

Four hostage rescue (cs_) maps:
- Motel (Payback)
- Downtown (Payback)
- Thunder (Payback)
- Agency (Bravo)
The Operation Phoenix Challenge Coin
When you activated your Operation Phoenix pass, you got a new item in your inventory called "Operation Phoenix Challenge Coin". You could choose to show this item beneath your name in the scoreboard, the in-game friends list or in-game lobbys.

Here you can see four players sporting the normal bronze coin. As previously stated, this coin was upgradable to a silver and a gold version. For this to happen, you had to play on Operation Phoenix maps for a certain amount of time and win a certain amount of competitive matches on Operation Phoenix maps:

This is how the values are displayed (this user for example still has a bronze coin, because he/she has only played for 6 hrs and won only 2 competitive matches):

Another feature of the Coin is the competitive scoreboard. It shows you certain statistics about all the competitive matches you played during the Operation, even on non-Phoenix maps. You can view your statistics after a competitive match or by simply hovering over the Coin in your inventory.

The Operation Phoenix Case
Activating an Operation Phoenix pass on your account also gave you the possibility to drop the Operation Phoenix case. It contains a collection of community-created weapon finishes and can be opened using an Operation Phoenix case key, which you can buy from the in-game item shop for $2.49.

Here is a list of the 13 weapon finishes included in this case and their respective rarities:

Mil-spec:
UMP-45 | Corporal
Negev | Terrain
Tec-9 | Sandstorm
MAG-7 | Heaven Guard

Restricted:
MAC-10 | Heat
SG 553 | Pulse
FAMAS | Sergeant
USP-S | Guardian

Classified:
AK-47 | Redline
P90 | Trigon
Nova | Antique

Covert:
AWP | Asiimov
AUG | Chameleon

Of course you also have the small possibility of getting a knife/exceedingly rare special item out of this case.

FAQ
I will try to answer some questions that I've seen asked multiple times already on various community websites here. You're of course also free to use the comment section to ask something.

Q: When did Operation Phoenix end?

A: Operation Phoenix ended on June 11th, 2014. It was previously planned to end on June 4th, but was extended for one week.

Q: What happened after June 11th, 2014?

A: You are not longer able to play the Operation maps on official Valve servers. However all obtained cases and weapon finishes will remain in your inventory.

Q: Can I get Phoenix Case drops without buying a Phoenix pass?

A: Yes. Now after Operation Phoenix ended everyone is able to get Phoenix cases as a drop. During the operation, however, only coin holders were able to drop Phoenix cases.

Q: Can I get Phoenix Case drops while playing on non-Phoenix maps?

A: Yes. It doesn't matter what gamemode or maps you're actually playing.

Q: Why did my coin not upgrade to Silver/Gold despite me having enough playtime and wins?

A: Make sure you're looking at the correct (upper) section of your coin. For upgrading the coin only amount of time played and competitive wins on Operation maps was taken into consideration. You can not longer upgrade your coin.

Q: Is the pass worth buying? I don't know any of the maps.

A: Check out the links to the Steam Maps Workshop in the second section of this guide. You can subscribe to the maps for free and test them offline with bots or with your friends. You can also search for community servers running the maps. Purchase of a pass is not necessary for this.

Q: Will the passes be more expensive in the future?

A: No, $2.99 was the regular price. However there have been some sales during the operation. Right now you're still able to buy a pass using the marketplace.

@truekapo: Operation Phoenix ended last year in June. You are not able to upgrade Operation Phoenix coins anymore, and because right now there is no Operation going on you are not able to see a competitive scoreboard at the end of competitive games.

As soon as the next Operation will be released you will probably be able to get a competitive scoreboard by buying an Operation Pass for that specific Operation. Watch out for any blog posts on counter-strike.net with official information.

@׺°”˜JⒶиC”°º×: Upgrading operation coins is only possible while the respective operation is active. You can't upgrade Operation Payback, Bravo or Phoenix Coins anymore.

@Kindred: Please refer to the other comments. There is no indication that they will stop dropping, however it is likely the drop rate will get lower with time. These are merely assumptions, though.
