Description
Here is the second of my custom faction airships. His Majesty's Escort Ship Orbiter is somewhat like a smaller version of my previous HMES Independence. It makes an effective early AA platform with a modest anti-ship armament mounted on the Ventral side.
It's relatively dodgey so it isn't in danger of being shot down by CRAMs or rockets. It's engine is quite vulnerable to APS, though.

The design features 4 simple weapons: 2 quad AA mounts on top and one 3.7in gun and a twin casemate on the bottom.


I have to give credit to 𝕰 𝖝 𝖎 𝖘 𝖙 𝖊 𝖓 𝖈 𝖊 for taking these screenshots for me. He did a phenomenal job with it. Also keep in mind that the colors and reflections and overall appearance of my airships will vary significantly based on your graphics settings, so feel free to mess with your settings and the paint colors until you get them to look how you like.

I've usually found the Orbiters to be vulnerable to getting their engines destroyed, but I may have to give them another look. I'm glad they're working so well for you!

This is perhaps the most under-rated ship out of the whole fleet. It's so cheap, but it can fight well above it's weight class. All of these ships look amazing, but nothing constantly surprises me more than the fact that the two Orbiters I constructed at the beginning of my run are still flying and fighting. It takes them forever to kill a target at this point, but they kill them anyway. I don't even fully understand how they are so effective. They don't have cheaty jet AI that dodges everything coming at it. They just fly, shoot guns, and refuse to go down until nearly cut in half.
