Puffing Billy

Puffing Billy is one of the early models of steam locomotives, built in 1814 and it's a very technical build! The hardest part was making the beams move and connect properly, which was a hard engineering challenge, but I managed to get through it and here we are! The real engine had two sets of beams, one each side, and they powered the wheels from the boiler in the centre. The boiler is rounded at the front while the rear has the firebox and smoke stack. The tender is being pulled from behind the train and it just contained a weight, I presume, and some tools.

Top speed: an unrealistic 19 mph.

Crew: 1 - driver.

Enjoy difficult technical build! The beams were by far the most difficult part, but I managed to get them working and it was very worth it!
