Originally created after the discovery that the 6.5mm cartgride was underpowered compared to the 7.7 used on Japanese fixed machine guns,this weapon began as a conversion for the Type 38.The Type 99 however,was redesigned from the ground up to be a much sturdier and reliable weapon,and even the late war production rifles were relatively good.It gained a bad reputation when mainly American soldiers captured training versions of the Type99,identical except for the fact that it was made to fire way less powerful rounds with wooden tip.The soldiers used regular ammunition with this rifles,sometimes leading to them exploding,having been mistook with frontline Arisakas

It'll be fixed eventually, but it'll take time as currently the unity colors are washed, but somehow fixed in game (so it's hard to tell the true color of stuff in the tools).
