LOW FPS GUIDE UPDATED

Some of this is irrevlant now due to the fact they fixed it after 3-4 updates where your mods wouldnt be deleted after unsubbing

Introduction

Hello!

Are you having high ram usage?
Are you literally just done with the game?
Are you constantly having long loading times and can never join a game in time!










If you said yes to any of these THIS IS YOUR GUIDE!
Before doing anything make sure you are unsubcribed from all mods in the workshop

Step 1

Remember to unsubscribe from all mods
once that has been done
Go to your barotrauma directory
typically its
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Barotrauma

Step 2

Delete everything in your TEMP MOD FOLDER and SUBMARINE FOLDER and WORKSHOP FOLDER but MAKE SURE TO BACK YOUR OWN SUBS and mods

Step 3 IGNORE NOT NEEDED/UNLESS YOU WANT TO

Verify game files to make sure you got all base files just in case
to do this do the following

1. Right click on Barotrauma
2. Go to properties
3. Go to local files and click verify game intergrity

Step 4

Turn off vsync (vsync typically forces to constantly make your game 60 fps which can lead to more ram usage and stuttering)

MOD FIX CLIENT SIDE!!! VERY IMPORTANT

Hello, Divers

One really good client side mod that will improve fps by alot!!

Follow instructions step by step and youll improve fps by a lot!!!

Step 5: Last and Final Step

Turn lighting resolution 0 and particle limit to 20 (you dont have to but i do this cause it suits me best)

PERFORMANCE MOD/FIX it helps really well

In most games lowering resolution does help with fps and ram usage but its minimal but in barotrauma it slightly helps more than other games
