Shogun no Katana - Official

Game overview

Shogun no Katana is a strategic Eurogame that will transport you to the magical atmosphere of feudal Japan.

Use your workers to choose which swords to make, among those requested by the powerful local Daimyo. Collect resources to improve your craft, and request your artists to create breathtaking decorations. Have your family members admitted to the most strategic rooms of the Shogun’s palace to obtain the privileges of their rank.
And finally, create the most beautiful SHOGUN NO KATANA!

Crafting katanas

You will have to manage your Forge wisely, as crafting Katanas will be the real beating heart of the game. The original and innovative sword-making mechanism allows you to activate an entire row or column to work on different Katanas at the same time.

During the game you will obtain resources, either by visiting the market, the palace among other places.

Each player has its own force where all the katana crafting will take place.

By activating a row or column you can add resources to all matching Katanas, moving them accordingly on the grid. But be careful! Having a lot of Katanas on the grid means that you can accomplish more with fewer actions, but it also increases the risk of them hindering each other. You will have to build your engine cleverly to maximize your turns.

Hi Balerion, thanks for your suggestions, we discussed them while preparing the new version.
About the description of the cards: we preferred to insert the page with the summary of all the effects on the table next to the rules because some cards require notes and examples that are clearer in this way, rather than written directly on the cards.
As for the coins, we had our playtesters do some tests and it was more convenient for everyone to be able to automatically stack coins with automatic counting as well as to keep them scattered on the table for those who do not want to use the automatic stacking. It is not necessary to put the stacks back in the bags but it is more convenient to use the two baskets made available on the table.

Also one other thing. I think it would be better if the coins didn't stack since you can't put stacks of coins back in the bags and people kept miscounting their money because the stacks of coins don't look that different than the singles until you hover over them.

This is a great mod. It would be even better if the cards all had their description filled in with what the card does. I taught the game last night to some friends and spent an inordinate amount of time having to look up the details of what cards did in the rules. May as well take advantage of the benefits of TTS to speed that up some. Thanks so much for making it.

Other tips:
- In our module, the first player is randomly assigned by the game itself by attributing the card of the first player and the turn order varies according to the choices of the players, so do not pay attention to the end turn button proposed at the top near the menu.
- Taking only one card and not the whole deck depends on the speed with which you move after clicking on the deck.
- Draw and Deal do not work as players' Hands are not active because they are not needed in the game.

Hi Nedrial, from what you tell me I guess this is an old Tabletop Simulator bug that has never been fixed, that happens when playing in Hotseat mode. It does not depend on the game module.
Here you find an old report

To have no problems, after opening Tabletop Simulator, follow these steps:
1. From Main Menu click on Create
2. Hotseat (choose the number of players)
3. Start
4. don't click OK under "Players 1's turn" but click Games in the top menu
5. search and load the game you want
6. now click OK under "Players 1's turn" and choose one of the color present on the table
7. repeat the point 6 for each player
8. when the game selection window reappears, close it without loading anything else
9. at the request of the first player's turn, click OK
10. Start having fun ^_^

Golden rule: after choosing the color for a player, never change it when you are in hotseat mode.

hi - for us it was somehow impossible to draw cards - it always did take the whole deck - draw and deal did not seem to work
also when picking up stuff (sashimonos, workers, coins, cards) it always picked up 2
maybe we missed something but basically unable to play here
