Introduction

ARK adds a nice selection of dinosaurs into the game. However, so many of these critters are well known and common. Almost everyone can recognize a T-Rex or a Triceratops. That's what I wanted to change when I made this dinosaur mod. I wanted to add dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures into ARK that weren't as common. From obscure creatures such as Massospondylus to fairly recognizable Ornithocheirus, there's a wide variety!

Each creature features a unique model as well as custom icons for craftable foods, saddles, and dinosaur icons! These exciting dinosaurs have unique abilities, new animations, and breathe some new life into ARK! Watch these beautifully crafted creatures wander around your ARKs, and see how wonderful it is to learn about more dinosaurs!

Controls the amount of time (in seconds) before Anzu will attempt to make another nest after it has attempted and failed to make one.
AnzuNestSpawnDelayOnSuccess
Controls the amount of time (in seconds) before Anzu will attempt to make another nest after it has successfully made one.
ChangetoBasicTame
Change to true to alter some creatures to a basic tame.
Inostrancevia now tames like a Saber, Kelenken takes Regular Kibble, and Prionosuchus still takes Temnospondyl Treat.
DisableAlphaSiamosaurusDropGustaveEgg
True: Disables Alpha Siamosaurus dropping a Gustave Siamosaurus Egg when killed.
DisableNasutoceratopsShieldDamageConsumeElement
True: By default, when Nasutoceratops has its tek shield active and is protecting nearby allies, damage to these creatures causes the power in the tek saddle to drain. Set this option to true disables that feature.

INI Options - Other
The Sunken World

If you are having issues getting Sunken Hyneria to spawn on The Sunken World you can try adding this option to your Game.INI file.

ConfigAddNPCSpawnEntriesContainer=(NPCSpawnEntriesContainerClassString="DinoSpawnEntries_TwilightZone_C",NPCSpawnEntries=((AnEntryName="SunkenHyneriaSpawner", EntryWeight=1.0, NPCsToSpawnStrings=("Hyneria_Character_BP_Sunken_C"))),NPCSpawnLimits=((NPCClassString="Hyneria_Character_BP_Sunken_C", MaxPercentageOfDesiredNumToAllow=0.1)))

Dino Storage V2

By default, ARK will not allowed modded creatures to be released from cryopods or downloaded from an obelisk, transmitter, etc. on Aberration. If you are using Dino Storage V2, however, Lethal has an INI option which allows you to release specific creatures from a Soul Trap.

[DinoStorage2]
IncludeClass=Kelenken_Character_BP_Aberrant_C,Nasutoceratops_Character_BP_Aberrant_C,Neovenator_Character_BP_Aberrant_C,Pinacosaurus_Character_BP_Aberrant_C,Postosuchus_Character_BP_Aberrant_C,Aberrant_Saltasaurus_Character_BP_C,Siamosaurus_Character_BP_Aberrant_C,Tsintaosaurus_Character_BP_Aberrant_C,Zuniceratops_Character_BP_Aberrant_C,Siamosaurus_Character_BP_Gustave_C

Please note that the above is an example for adding Prehistoric Beasts creatures which naturally spawn on Aberration to this list. If you already use this mod and have this option in your GameUserSettings.INI file, simply copy everything after "IncludeClass=" and paste it into your already existing configuration. You do NOT ever put two instances of the same option.

In addition, they fiercly guard their nests, to the point of death if need be. They will only get up if they see a player nearby, and then will strike!

If you can manage to snag an egg from an Anzu nest, then you will have an eccelent caregiver. Anzu's natural parental instincts take over, and assist your tames! Feeding them, and caring for them!

How to Tame & Preferred Foods
Jiangjunosaurus is a passive tame. You need to be level 75 to feed them sego lilies to tame them. They have a chance to spawn kentros when you feed them. Because
they are dangerous and hit hard, it is recomended to have ghillie, med brews, and a strong tame nearby.

Aberrant Kelenken
R-Kelenken
X-Kelenken

How to pronounce
Ku-len-kin

Controls & Abilities
Left-Click: Bite
Right-Click: Talon Stomp (land only), Talon Swipe (air only)
C: Roar
X: Beak Click
Space: Jump, Glide (air only)

Kelenken is a very aggressive carnivore and is typically found with Terror Birds by its side. The bite attack does decent damage and the land talon stomp is very fast but is ineffective against creatures of larger size as its damage output is based on the victims drag weight. If you jump and use the talon swipe attack you will do bleed damage to your enemies.

The roar is purely cosmetic but performing its beak click ability will give Kelenken a "Looking for Targets" buff for a short period of time. This vision outlines players and creatures within a specific range similar to how a tek helmet functions. Any nearby tamed or allied Kelenken as well as Terror Bird will also receive this special vision and any tamed creature within their vision range will be given a "You've Been Targeted" buff to let them know they are being tracked. Creatures with this targeted buff receive an additional 20% damage while it is active.

A video guide on Kelenken can be found here.

Spawn Regions
Kelenkens are found in the Redwoods alongside Terror Birds. Their Aberrant version, however, will spawn in groups of two or three since Terror Birds are not native to this map.

Genesis Part 1: Bog
Genesis Part 2: Eden
Lost Island: Redwoods
Ragnarok: Redwoods
Scorched Earth: N/A

Valguero: Redwoods

How to Tame & Preferred Foods
To tame this creature it must be below 25% health. You will know it has reached this requirement because red particles will glow around its head and it will perform an animation. At this point you will need to use a ballista turret and hit Kelenken with a chain bola. Once immobilized, walk up and repeatedly feed it fermented sweet melons until it becomes unconscious.

As long as you continue to feed it fermented sweet melons the bola buff will continue to add additional time. If Kelenken gets free from the chain bola, as long as it has the red glow around its head you can simply use the ballista turret again and continue the process. If the red glow is no longer visible, just start the entire process over again by getting it below 25% health.

Once successfully knocked out, simply place food inside its inventory.

How to pronounce

Controls & Abilities
Left-Click: Bite / Chomp Prey
Right-Click: Grab, Stop Chomping Prey, Release Prey
C: Roar
Alt Fire: Activate Tek Saddle

Neovenator is an all-around great creature to tame. Their damage is on par with Rex, but they are much faster and more maneuverable. In the wild you will often find Neovenator holding smaller creatures in its mouth chomping on it, which works the same as Megalosaurus. A Neovenator, however, is much smarter. If they are chewing prey and get attacked, they will drop the creature from their mouth and shift its focus to anything attacking it.

Note: Due to how strong Alphas are, they are unable to do the grab attack.

If a player gets grabbed by a Neovenator they can break free by simply dealing a certain amount of damage to it. You better be quick, as its chomping attack shreds armor!

Once you unlock the Neovenator Tek Saddle you are given the ability to activate its special ability using Element as fuel. Unlike other ARK Tek Saddles, this one does not shoot projectiles. Instead, Neovenator is given predator vision, which works exactly as it does for a Snow Owl. This vision allows you to easily track nearby enemies at the cost of a little Element.

Neovenator has the ability to roar, but it is purely cosmetic.

Spawn Regions
The dangerous Neovenator can be found in numerous areas across the ARKs.

There is a 5% chance when Neovenator spawns it will become an Alpha variant.

Scorched Earth: Badlands
The Center: Grasslands, Lava, Mountains, Snowy Mountains
The Island: Grasslands, Monster Island, Mountains
Valguero: Chalk Hills, Grasslands, Mountains

How to Tame & Preferred Foods
Neovenator has a unique taming method. You must allow Neovenator to running full speed at you and use a ballista turret with chain bolas to immobilize it. Quickly run up to it with Coagulated Kibble in the last slot of your hotbar and press E to ride it. As soon as you mount Neovenator you will be given a prompt in the bottom right corner of your screen (like Equus) to press E again, which will feed it. From this point it will tame exactly like a horse, running wild where the player has no control over where Neovenator will go.

After a period of time it will continue to give you feeding prompts. When it is finished taming you will be dismounted as riding a tamed Neovenator requires a saddle.

Neovenator will only consume Coagulated Kibble during the taming process.

Once tamed, Postosuchus are most useful in packs. The Alpha of the pack can roar to initiate a buff called "Bloodthirsty Howl", giving a 10% damage boost and doubling the speed of pack members for a short time. The Postosuchus is also a useful creature because if you'll notice in its mouth there is a green particle which we have deemed "Stink Breath". How to Tame
Postosuchus cannot be tamed using traditional knockout or passive feeding methods. Instead, you must make your way to where they spawn and steal an egg from their nest. Unlike most egg snatch creatures in ARK, every Postosuchus has an equal chance to produce a nest and they can spawn anywhere a Postosuchus happens to be. Good luck hunting!

How to pronounce
Sigh-am-o-saurus

Controls & Abilities
Left-Click: Bite
Right-Click: Claw (land only)
C: Roar, Berzerk Roar
Alt Fire: Tail Swipe
Space: Dash Foward (water only)

Siamosaurus is a fairly complex creature. In the wild they are neutral with the exception of a few select creatures: Anglerfish, Cnidaria, Coelacanth, Piranha and Sabertooth Salmon. They have a devastating bite, a very quick and powerful claw attack along with a tail swipe that deals a good amount of impulse (knockback) to smaller sized creatures.

You will notice quickly that this creature does not move very well on land. But it is, however, very graceful in the water. As if their immunity to Cnidaria and Electrophorus wasn't enough to make them a desirable water mount, they are also efficient at gathering Angler Gel, Bio Toxin, Black Pearls and Silica Pearls. While inside its inventory, Siamosaurus is able to carry a larger amount of Black Pearls and Silica Pearls due to a significant weight reduction.

When riding a Siamosaurus for the first time you will notice at the bottom of your screen there are three new UI interfaces. One is a percentage meter, one bar says "Use Angler Gel to Activate" and the third says "Flashover Strength" with stats listed above it.

Let's begin with the percentage meter on the far left, which is simply used to control the strength of the land tail swipe attack. The longer you hold alt fire, Siamosaurus will have more power and knockback will have behind it when doing the tail attack. The other two meters work in multiple ways. First and foremost, the bar on the left is an indicator for how to use the ability. As it says, if you use Angler Gel it will activate. To use Angler Gel, place some in the last slot of your hotbar and press zero. Doing this will begin the process, which we've called "Flashover".

This part of the ability works similar to Ferox. You will see one bar has now turned into a timer and another displays the strength bonus your Siamosaurus is receiving. Above the strength bar you will also notice the stats have changed. The more you feed it Angler Gel, the stronger it will become but it will get increasingly less time with the buff. You can feed Siamosaurus a max of 40 times before it will reach 100% strength and at this point it will enter berzerk mode.

In berzerk mode, Siamosaurus will deal 150% damage, gain 5 health per second and its speed will be increased to 125%. At this point you will notice you have a very limited amount of time. You can, however, make good use of the additional 10 times you can feed Siamosaurus a piece of Angler Gel in this stage. When you feed it Angler Gel in berzerk mode, the closer the clock is to 0:00 the more additional bonus time you will earn with the buff.

Once your timer has run out you will enter the sizzled out phase. During this time, Siamosaurus has become worn out and will now need to re-energize itself. Once this debuff is given you will notice your stats have now received a significant penalty. Siamosaurus will now only deal 75% damage, its speed will be decreased to 50% and it will lose 10 stamina per second. The amount of time it takes you to re-energize is completely dependent on how many times you fed your Siamosaurus a piece of Angler Gel. There is quite a large difference in the amount of time it takes to re-energize between feeding it a few Angler Gel and feeding it 50 times.

While Siamosaurus can roar, it is purely cosmetic.

Siamosaurus is a piscivore, meaning it will only eat fish meat (cooked, prime, raw etc).

A video guide on Siamosaurus can be found here.

Spawn Regions
Siamosaurus are commonly found on the coastlines, but due to their aggressiveness towards certain creatures they will sometimes wander out into the water on their own. You will find them naturally spawn in the deeper parts of the Ocean as well. Alpha Siamosaurus are limited to only have a chance to spawn in the ocean waters, not along the beach.

There is a 5% chance when Siamosaurus spawns it will become an Alpha variant.

Tsintaosaurus is not a fighter, so do not expect the bite to deal much damage. It does, however, have the ability to harvest berries and crops efficiently.

During this period of time, if Tsintaosaurus gets within range of an enemy player, alpha creature of any level or a high level wild creature that is a carnivore or an aggressive herbivore such as Therizinosaurus, it will receive an additional buff. This buff is called "Danger Detected" which gives Tsintaosaurus a speed boost and a blue screen effect will be displayed on the rider HUD.

How to Tame & Preferred Foods
To tame one, you'll need a good quality assault rifle, and plenty of ammo. I'd also suggest using a taming pen of some type, as to avoid getting eaten. Taming has 3 steps. First, you need to damage Yangchuanosaurus enough that it will do a heal roar. Once it does this, shoot it with the gun. Only shots that hit while its healing will increase torpor. Repeat these two steps over and over, until Yangchuanosaurus passes out. Then you are free to feed it kibble! They prefer the higest tier kibble; Extraordinary kibble!

Sego lilies are a rarer drop alongside rare-flowers. Wherever you harvest rare flowers, will also harvest lilies, in smaller quantities. Taking a theriz to the swamp will gather plenty.

Such a breathtaking mod! All creatures are well-thought, well done and add astonishing roster to choose from!
Sadly, after I disabled hibernation on singleplayer, the spawn rates are so low, that I just know each hunt will be a huge time sink if my "target" dies in the wild.
Wish I could play it and admire your hard work. But to my gameplay these animals are practically non-existent without a flier and barely noticeable when scouting area in the air :(
