I appreciate that the solution is based on logic, but I'm afraid juggling the futbals was no fun :-( I needed endless tries to discover how to place them best into the autoportals since you can't simply drop them like regular items. What I saw in other people's videos was new to me.
looking down into the portal, releasing the futbol and make it swing in a perfect vertikal trajectory

(This spoiler contains a possible solution.)
It requires the player to experiment with ball catchers to see how they work, and for them to think of things in cause & effect to understand how the gate could be opened. In my case, I put the orange ball to blue ball's catcher, then I went to stand on the second room's launching pad, then threw the blue ball to make the blue dispenser forcefully destroy the orange ball for a moment. How a momentary deactivation helped me get through the puzzle reminds me of Fumbly Bumbly's puzzle "Voodoo".
Thanks for the fun!
