Description

This is a mod for various strategy games, that makes province names change their name dynamically, to one that fits the culture of the faction that controls them.

In the common database (for all the supported games), there are currently over 170.000 names for various languages, themes and time periods.

The names are meant to provide an immersive and authentic experience for the game's setting and time period.
However, if there are no names for a specific language for this context, names from other time periods, or even from very closely related languages, will be used instead, as long as they make sense and are a good fit.

The Pontic Steppe and other such made-up empires are indeed incredibly annoying.

"Pontic Steppe" as a name at least actually exists IRL, definetely not for an empire, but for a geographic region. I will try adding translations for it but it will still mean the same thing.

It's the game developer's decision for a "Pontic Steppe" empire to "exist" and since MCN's scope is to pretty much just provide more name variants in more languages, I really shouldn't just go ahead and change it to something else entirely.

Do you have an idea of what "Pontic Steppe Empire" name should be? I saw it & I think it's an insanely stupid name for an empire to have. I thought your mod might have an idea for it, but I still see it as "Pontic Steppe". Or do you know any mod that change some of the empire names?
Other than that, I do like a lot of the names you added in the mod. I just never like "Pontic Steppe" as a name for an empire.

Are you going to add Komes/Komessa for Greek Count/Countess and Doukissa for Greek Duchess?

I don't know. If that mod modifies the landed_titles file it's not, otherwise it is.
Officially only vanilla and HIP is supported.

Is this compatible with the mod Ck2plus mod?

@lebowski26

Nope. That was actually part of MCN's scope a while back, and the title changes are still part of the mod, but have not been updated/extended in a long time.

For vanilla CK2 there are already quite a lot (32) of cultures covered, and for the other games there's no need (HIP does that by itself, and CK3 has a different and excellent mod that does that)

I might, however, extract those into a separate mod in the future, and remove them from MCN.

Ok, I understand that! Just asked because CleanSlate seems like a really cool and helpful addition to the mod's world. Anyway, another question: do you plan do to a second mod in the future, similar to this one, but with cultural title names, like adding variations to "count", "duke", "king" and so on for different cultures?

@lebowski26 Hi, thanks for enjoying it!

But unfortunately no, for CK2, MCN only works with vanilla and HIP.

Others are welcome to make compatibility patches, and that would be greatly appreciated. On my part though, MCN is already taking a lot of time and effort to maintain and develop further, so I had to put CK2 on hold (meaning that the existing versions will be maintained, but no new ones made), so that I can focus on the newer games instead.

Hello! Is there a version of this awesome mod that works with CK2+ and CleanSlate? Thank you!
