I'm guessing you're referring to the angel altar?
Not sure if it's a glitch or an intended mechanic, but if you strafe sideways while using W (Kinda like bhop / surf in Source games), you can technically gain infinite speed. Lets you move through rooms really quickly if you know what you're doing.
Also, Odr's flight works in 2 different ways: You have infinite jumps, but if you also hold down spacebar, you're able to hover midair on the same level as when you held it down. It takes some getting used to, but it's quite consistent. Helps with spacing you outside of melee enemies easily.
Starting SG+Clip Up+ Giant Slayer Boots+DeathWish = bosses down in 2-3 shots tops.
I would classify odr's playstyle as a glass cannon more than anything. He is devastating if played correctly, although you can see that the downside of being 1 hit kill is there either way.
Kill flies.
One day I'll beat odr B)
His starting weapon I found to be the most pleasant out of all of them, to argue your side.
Sure, it's difficult to get up close and personal, however, it can deal massive damage if you're in the sweet spot.
It deals about 1/6 of Draugr's health w/o any upgrades / items, and is able to 1shot most enemies if you know how to position yourself.
Another tip for Odr as well is to clear the flying / projectile enemies first, as you can time it since every enemy attacks on the beat, and most flying enemies take 2 full beats (4 with halfbeats) to attack, so it's easy to get up close, dodge and shoot.
Circlet of the Serpentine heals 1-3 damage per hit, affected by Gunnr's bracelet.
Skuld's Vamp heals 5 hp guaranteed each hit.
Serpentine replaces Skuld's healing completely, as well.
Unsure if it stacks using Ogre Helm / Shotgun weapons, although it's likely as those stack with GSB as well.
