VATA (Vikings Across The Atlantic)

Description
After playing for around 150 hours in the British Isles as a norse pagan, i felt a little bit disappointed with the current cultures available and suddenly becoming the head of the Norse culture, because everyone in the world has converted definetely breaks the immerson, i had now technically the exact same culture as some random norse count in India. Also, paradox had a small bug that broke the default norse-split and made the informative event about it don't fire.

This mod fixes that, by creating 5 new cultures in Britain to proportionate you a better gameplay as a viking in the British Isles, and also an icelandic one because it doesn't exist in the base game.

The mod fires together with the norse melting pot 950-990

I. Regionalism and ownership were factors taken into account when coding the event and there are a very complex set of rules that dictate how each county and ruler will convert, designed in a way to prevent culture border gore and better suit your roleplay purposes.

II. The culture's names have a historical background a reason behind most of them, but as Nationalism and Etimology weren't so popular in the middle ages, mainly for pagans, sources are scarce and a little bit of creativity was used in the name creation process

III. The mod has been coded in a way players have more flexibility and the whole mod is made in a dynamic way, so cultures won't pull any innovations from old ones if they didn't exist, for example. Also, you have free will to chose how your realm will convert, this means that if you are perfeccionist like me, you can let every vassal of yours convert accordingly to it's region target culture and have a more pleasant map to look at.

If you are reading this, this mod certainly caught your attention and i would love to hear any suggestions or opinions you have. Also, if you encounter any bug or strage thing during the conversion or after, report it in the comments and i'll be sure to answer.

Future Plans:

- More Scandinavian subcultures #
- Decision to integrate finnish, sami and estonian culture into the North Germanic group. (Estonia can into nordic!) #
- Add a start option for the cultures start already split. #
- More flavor to the Anglo-Norse cultures. #
- New exclusive innovations for the Anglo-Norse and the Norse. #

- New mechanics?
- New buildings?
- Tweak raiding?
- Custom government form for vikings?

@Crankmeister I made a similar mod a few years back when i noticed this one wasn't getting updated. I no longer update my mod because with the culture mechanics added a few years ago I didn't feel it was necessary anymore. Not speaking for this mod or it's creator, I'm just saying having filled a similar niche that is my thoughts.

It'd be cool to see this mod make a comeback, mods that add more norse or part-norse cultures are awesome

Little disappointed that Paradox didn't add anything like this with the DLC.

@Shadow + @Эхо
It worked with a custom Norse Asatru character starting on East Anglia, too.

@Эхо It works, but I'd highly recommend starting as one of the sons of Lodbrok, people seem to be having issues with other norse nations.

Does the mod need updating or does it work with the current version?

Yeah Iceland doesn't work, stays Norse; but the British Isles go Englisk, Scottisk, Bretsk and Irisk. North Scotland and the Highlands go Austk, which I assume is the Icelandic(?) culture

@Hawkdownn Did you invade the British Isles at all?

Doesn't work. Started in 867 and Iceland is Norse.

Yes, it still works.
