MND Balance: Making empires actually work for it...

Descrição
Hello players,

I am Malorn, some of you who play EU4 M&T may know who I am. This mod was created for my personal use, but I was encouraged to make it available so others could benefit from it.

This is a balancing mod which alters several key defines to improve the base game balance, producing better outcomes. Succession is a little less secure, and rulers with massive empires cannot muster forces as rapidly. This will NOT make the game easier in most cases, since the player is often the larger in many wars. Politics is more complex and less certain, meaning that you won't always know if you can win a war when you declare it unless you never take any risks.

A detailed discussion of the changes is posted here:

In sum, this is a balance mod with the focus on increased realism and anti-blobbing measures on the organic level. It is not about hard interventions, but about tuning the game rules to produce certain outcomes. It may be expanded as more ways to improve CK3 become obvious.

I would highly recommend using my mod with the excellent More Game Rules mod.

It is most assuredly compatible, and many of those rules permit other solid balance changes which I highly recommend, and would have created on my own, had pfried not already done so.

Yea i haven't noticed myself having accolades of higher level than 3-4

Hmm, sounds like accolades need some work. I've also noticed they are extremely hard to maintain at higher levels as well, even with proper successors. That seem to be the case for others as well, or just me?

@malorn it stacks with archer accolade, i thought that's common knowledge by now. 2 accolades for 1 unit type gives you like +16 regiment cap which is insane, especially since archers are not the most expensive unit.
Altho ig that's more of a later-game problem, but still, 1066 makes it more relevant

@Captain SSMolleTT When you give me more details. =P

Crossbow accolade nerf when?

I've mixed them all before, probably best to not mix MND with Dark Ages but MND can be super compatible. Obfuskate needs to be lowest then dark ages above with MND being anywhere above that.

By chance, what's the load order for this mod when paired with Dark Ages and ObfusCKate?

@thriller it doesn't work...how? You mean it isn't functioning properly and dev isn't providing doubled bonuses? Or do you mean it wasn't what you were expecting?

At low dev you will receive less money than vanilla, and at high dev you will receive more money. The break even point if I recall is around 60 dev or so, below that you are receiving less money, above that you receive more.

The whole exchange of less tax for better development effects doesnt work at all i checked baghdad where the dev effects were the same with and without the mod and then looked at the buildings were the tax was lowered so ur just getting less money in this mod basically

No worries, it's compatible and quite functional. I just haven't done a huge amount of new balance work with the new mechanics. Sorry for being unclear.
