[FFE] Late Meiji Era IJA - First Sino-Japanese War to the Russo-Japanese War

Marching in the snow, stepping on ice.

Finally, after a thousand years, I return to my Fires in the Far East "project". Been spending the past month and some change working on this pack, so hopefully it is worth the wait.

I started working on this pack for the purpose of having skins that can authentically use King_Creepalot's Murata rifles, and to sorta show how I've improved in comparison to my old skins.

If you want to quote Sabaton and fight Samurai please use the skin in this unlisted mod so I don't have an aneurysm from anachronisms.


This pack covers three conflicts during the latter part of the Meiji-era:

-First Sino-Japanese War (SJ)
Technically represents the equipment used in the later half of the war, with the 1892 leather clad glass canteen outside of the knapsack.
Use with the Type 13 Murata rifle.

-Boxer Rebellion (BR)
Shows some of the advances the IJA made after the Sino-Japanese War, such as switching to an aluminum canteen.
Use with the Type 22 Murata rifle.

-Russo-Japanese War (RJ)
The variation with the most amount of change, such as the use of the Type 30's pouches and bayonet.
Use with the Type 30 Arisaka rifle.

And now to the uniform variations:

-Winter
Dunkleblau 1886 pattern uniform.

-Greatcoat
1873 greatcoat over an 1886 winter uniform. Does not have an additional greatcoat slung over it in the Combat variations.

-Summer
For the Sino-Japanese and Boxer Rebellion, 1883 white summer uniform. In 1904 the summer uniform was changed to khaki.

Now onto the load bearing equipment variations for each uniform variant:

-Combat
Since at least the Sino-Japanese War, units of the IJA eschew rucksacks in favor of a cloth tube pack. Along with the tube pack a greatcoat is slung over the opposite shoulder.

-Marching
Tornister styled rucksack.

These three parts make up the naming system of this pack. For example: "IJA RJ Winter Marching".
