Problem Description
I recently got the game and when starting the game even with lowest graphics settings it always crashed. Mostly when joining (rendering) a map and always when switching the map.
After a lot of research I couldn't find any solution and I tried many things.
But most of the times I got the error message: "Out of video memory trying to allocate a texture"
Setup
RAM: 12 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB
CPU: intel Core i5-3450
Solution
After some more research I found that it is a problem of the Unreal Engine 4.

It fills up the RAM and crashes afterwards. It might be some sort of memory leak. As a solution I found, that you can create bigger page files on the SSD as big as the VRAM of your system.

The Windows Club - how to increase page file sizes[www.thewindowsclub.com]

To increase Page File size so in Windows 10, follow these steps:

1. Right-click on This PC and open Properties.
2. Select Advanced System Properties
3. Click Advanced tab
4. Under Performance, click Settings
5. Under Performance Options, click Advanced tab
6. Here, under Virtual memory, select Change
7. Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives
8. Highlight your Windows system drive
9. Select Custom size
10. Change the Initial size value and the Maximum size value to a higher value
11. Click Set
12. Finally, Click Apply/OK all the way.
Conclusion
For me it helped so that I can play the game. At least if I don't have many other programs opened while playing. On very open Maps I can even play on higher graphics settings. But I faced crashes playing on Carentan. Probably this is still too much for my setup and settings.

I hope that these performance issues will be fixed soon and that this guide might help you.
