The CM-2
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR INFORMATION HOW TO USE THIS MISSILE WITH SUCCESS

Information
The CM-2 "Longsword" GPS/Radar-guided Cruise Missile is a 20km ranged 150m/s air-launched & high-precision ramjet cruise missile built for use on aircraft and ships with rapid succession. It includes both a GPS and radar stage to enable high accuracy when hitting targets and also holds a threshold system to differentiate between decorative objects & targets. Its role is air-to-ground and can be used against both ships and land vehicles provided they have enough mass, all similar to its predecessor the CM-1 in which the CM-2's guidance is based off of.

This missile is AIR-LAUNCHED ONLY as it relies on a ramjet for power, it is also built to be multiplayer friendly by going at a speed in which a server can cope with (unlike the CM-1.) Firing is the exact same as the CM-1 with less spool time, (setting GPS target, pressing fire and waiting a few seconds).

FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS MANUAL:

Microcontrollers that are highlighted with a circle are able to modified, any other microcontroller on the missile may be more difficult to use or modify!

HOW TO FIRE WITH SUCCESS:
- A toggle button hooked up to "Launch Missile" and a large keypad with "A" and "B" hooked up to "Target X" and "Target Y".
- The missile requires 1 medium battery hooked to it externally to function, it is vital you hook the battery to a generator or a relay of some sort as the missile takes in a lot of electricity.
- With insufficient battery power the missile will misfire!
- The missile has roughly 5 seconds (or lower depending on aircraft speed) of spool up time before fire.
- It only works in the orientation it was built in!
- This missile IS MULTIPLAYER FRIENDLY!
- The missile has a max range of 20km and a speed of 150m/s.
- Do not fire too high or there is a chance of the missile overcorrecting

Have fun!

I specifically picked them because they are relatively basic compared to your newer ones. It leaves things to be desired, but that way I have some goals to work towards.

I wouldn't really use this missile chief in general, please look at my more recent cruise missiles for ones that function much better, this thing is around 2 years old now

I can also recommend reducing the cruise throttle from 0.4 to 0.2. It doesn't really seem to effect it's speed, but it massively increases the range. A 0.2 throttle, I can hit targets just shy of 33km. Had a target set up at 32.9km and shot 3 missiles at it. The first hit the target, the second ran out of fuel a second before hitting it and pitched up. The third one did the same. Putting the throttle any lower will decrease the speed of the missile, and your range will go drastically down as the jet can't sustain it's speed. You might be able to get away with throttle values between 1.9 to 2.0, but at that point the increase would be minimal. Haven't yet been able to test it, as some poor pilot came into view and was promptly locked on by the missiles.
Speaking of radar locks, it seems that the missile switches to radar guidance as soon as it detects a target, rather than actually switching to radar once it is within range of the destination.

For anyone interested, it is possible to use this in a vertical launch system, like in submarines or ships. You'll have to add a few small rocket boosters on the sides to get it up to speed. I've used 6 small rocket boosters on the sides of the missile, just above the fuel tanks. The boosters have a single small tank above them. You'll have to put them in front of the center of mass in order to maintain stability during and after launch. I've set their thrust to 22%, and it works really well. Also make sure to set the capacitor in the 'launch receive' microcontroller to 0 charge rate, so it launches immediately when firing.

How would I change the default cruise altitude?

could you make a version of this with a cluster nuke option something where there are rockets attached to the rods to scatter them all over the place

If I understand well, this missile switches to radar guidance when it is in certain distance from target? If yes what's the switch distance? I couldn't manage to get precise hits by using purely GPS location ( GPS position set on building ) so I think it switches to radar at some point. I also made little modification to allow drop it from plane cargo bay like MOAB - Works well

Could you please fix it
