Security Powered Combat Vest

Description
NOTE: Please refer to the installation guide below if you have any issues with the addon; the installation process is still required even after the 1.0 update to ensure it functions as intended.

Originally posted by half-life.fandom.com:
The Powered Combat Vest, commonly abbreviated as P.C.V. is a protective vest worn by the Marines of the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit and Military Police, over which the LC-2 Harness is worn.

Features:
This P.C.V. Addon was originally meant for a custom campaign back in 2017, however, I decided to repurpose it as to not let it go to waste, this addon features:
  • A restylised H.U.D. similar to that featured in Half-Life: Opposing Force with a new digitised font and new armour icons to suit that of a P.C.V. (Powered Combat Vest)
  • The H.U.D. has been recoloured to match the colour scheme found in Half-Life: Blue Shift, more fitting for a Security Guard!
  • Pitched down H.E.V. voicelines to sound more like a male to match with the P.C.V.
  • Security Guard viewmodels have been ported over from Black Mesa's Multiplayer mode.

The original story for this Addon was that Black Mesa were in the process of prototyping a new standard vest for the Guards with the technology being borrowed from their previous designs of the Powered Combat Vest issued to the Military and you just happen to be lucky enough to be wearing it at the time of the disaster.

Installation:
NOTE: This mod requires a "Custom" folder to function properly, please follow this guide if you have not already set it up.
  • Firstly, locate the Steam Workshop folder typically in the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content".
  • Locate and Open the folder "362890". (Black Mesa Addons Folder)
  • Locate and Open the folder "2192736259"
  • Copy the file "securitypcv.vpk" and paste it into the "Custom" folder you set up in the guide above.
  • NOTE: Due to the way the Workshop handles sounds they will NOT work unless you enter in "snd_restart" in the console everytime you load up the game OR unsubscribe from the mod after placing "securitypcv.vpk" into your "Custom" folder, maybe like and favourite this instead? ;)
Congratulations! You have successfully installed this addon, enjoy! :)

Compatibility Issues:
NOTE: Using any Addon with the following incompatibilities will have unexpected results.
  • Addons that recolour the H.U.D.
  • Addons that alter weapon viewmodels (Weapons, arms, hands, etc.).
  • Addons that change the H.E.V. sounds.
  • Addons that change the Health and Armour Icons.

Other Addons based on this Addon:
NOTE: I am not actively involved with the mods listed, if there are issues contact their respective contributers.

Special thanks to Style-7[www.dafont.com] for the use of the Digital-7[www.dafont.com] Font!

Hey guys just want to leave a comment here to let you guys no I am no longer and haven’t been actively working on this mod for quite some time.

It was only ever some left over publishable portion of a mod I was working on way back in 2017-2018 that has long been abandoned.

Periodically, I test this mod works only with no other mods installed following the tutorial as seen above.

My most recent test has it still working, if your having any issues make sure no other mods are installed that effect the hud, icons are supported.

Otherwise check your installation is correct by following the guide provided. A simple subscribe will not work due to the way Black Mesa loads some of its files.
