Nebulus: Official (Scripted) (Beta)

Entering a new galaxy, you are one of several different factions seeking control. Explore new solar systems, conquer different planets, and discover what the galaxy of Nebulus has to offer. But move quickly as the first faction to control a majority of the galaxy wins the game.

Nebulus is a 2 to 6 player game with three different board configurations. Each turn, players take up to two actions, choosing from ten available actions addressed in the rule book and briefly covered on the quick reference cards. Though each actions can lead to a different immediate effect, the end goal is the same for everyone: control a majority of the galaxy. Building colonies on different systems is the primary method of gaining control, however using upgrades, research and development, and combat, players can assert their dominance in many different ways.

Throughout play, you have the opportunity to upgrade each facet of your faction from the speed of your scout ship to the motivating factors of your people. Assuming you control a celestial body, be that a star, gas giant, or exoplanet, you have the chance to obtain one of ten different elements you could either use or spend to obtain upgrades and constructs. From the variety of system tiles and the size of the galaxy to the variance in cards drawn from the R&D, Upgrade, or Empty Space bag, you will never play Nebulus the same way twice.

Disclaimer:
This mod utilizes some very rudimentary scripting to help get the board set up, all the decks shuffled, and the available upgrades placed. Everything after setup will need to be done manually. Most artwork in the rule book PDF is original. However, almost all the artwork in the game itself is borrowed from google images for use while we complete over two hundred individual illustrations needed for Nebulus. If the artist requests their image be removed, we will comply. The figurines are also rough concepts, and will be subject to change frequently.

As Nebulus is still in its beta mode, and play-testing is still occurring, a how to play video is not yet done. Once we are confident in the mechanics and rules of the game, a how to play video will be posted here as well. In the mean time, our most up-to-date copy of the rule book can be found here:

Getting to the point where Nebulus can be played to this degree has been a five-year journey, and we're still not done. Concepts are constantly being reworked or added.
