[Trooper's] Guide to All Round Nai'x the LifeStealer
By Trooper
Role: Carry / Durable / Jungler / Escape / Initiator.
Main Attribute: Strength.

Pros and Cons
Pros
1. Strong at every point of the game.
2. Becomes an unstoppable beast with quite minimum farm.
3. Impressive escape mechanism atleast once for every 100 seconds.
4. Impressive killer mechanism if there is a good initiation hero/Invisible hero.
5. Tanks as hell until you keep attacking, Thanks to his second skill.

Cons
1. Early smoke ganks by the enemy team can ruin entire game.
2. Jungle speed is spawn dependent.
3. Magic Immune spells affect you greatly in ganks.
4. Hero with Illusions rape Lifestealer.

Notes.
  • Do not play Lifestealer as a hard carry farming the entire game, else this guide is not for you.
  • Do not pick Lifestealer if there is a counter pick already such as Naga Siren, Bane, Batrider etc.
  • Your infest should always be in cd after 20 minutes (Infest is available means its time for you to gank).
  • Prefer lane than jungling because your team mate can be harassed badly unless he/she is a solo laner like windranger.
  • This Guide can be used both for pub stompage as well as Competetive play.

    Hero Difficulty by Wiki: 17/25.

    A build for both Public matchmaking and Competitive gameplay. Mastering this guide will enable you to snowball your enemies out of control. I present to you, a N'aix build which will help you to turn your Lifestealer into an absolute beast.

    Phase Boots or Power treads?
    This is the most common argument on Lifestealer.
    Phase Boots
    Gives increased movement speed and lets you move through units, Meaning you have the ability to pass through your heroes too in ganks. The early burst damage is also great for taking down enemy heroes real quick. The greatest disadvantage of Phase boots is making Lifestealer a bit vulnerable due to the deficiency of attack speed(attack speed reflects how long you survive in a 1v1 situation, because of the second skill) and +8 attribute to Strength.

    Power Treads
    Changes selected attribute between Strength, Agility and Intelligence. Simply Epic on Lifestealer if the Enemy hero has ***** to fight, but Lifestealer is greatly kited and mostly will not be taken on a 1 v 1 situation, So Phase boots on Lifestealer is recommended.

    Basic Gameplay
    *Always stand ready for a 1v1 situation, even though you are lacking health. Its a sure win for you if it isn't a permabasher.
    *Try using your ultimate both offesinvely and defensively, If possible ask team to pick a hero who synchronizes good with Lifestealer.
    *Always attack the hero with maximum health first, this makes you survive in ganks a lot longer.

    Enough praise for the hero! Jungle or Lane?
    Jungling: One of the options for the mighty beast as his skill set is well supported for Jungling. Jungling with Lifestealer is one of the best strategies if you want to level up a solo lane hero or If you want to give some hero faster level up. But always remember Jungling is giving an ememy hard carry free farm, Jungle only if you are either up to the challenge, or ready to be flamed by the team. Jungling with Lifestealer is also an option If you have an another carry at safe lane so you had to face hard lane and are getting harrased badly over there. Always remember Jungling at early levels with Lifestealer still is a pain.

    Lane: Laning with Lifestealer is quite easy, effecient than jungle and rewarding because of his skill set to open a gank, Enough said.

    Friends of the crawling beast
    Spirit breaker(People usually call it a *** combo).
    Puck(Bomb with blink or second skill).
    Storm Spirit(N'aix Bomb).
    Invisible heroes.

    Slayers of the crawling beast
    Equally farmed Troll Warlord.
    Ursa.
    Slardar.
    Pugna.
    Outword Devourer.
    Bane.
    Batrider.
    Naga Siren.
    Lone Druid.
    Faceless void.
    Though mastering N'aix will make him an unstoppable hero with an exception of DarkTerror.

    Popular Item arguments of this guide
    Phase boots/Power treads: As it was the most argued subject it has been explained earlier.

    Why is Drums not a core item after Phase boots?: Drum's is a good choice on Lifestealer after phase boots, but you cannot have one of your slots dedicated for drums, as you need to buy it in the early game - mid game stage and sell it in the late game stage to create a slot for one of your luxury items, Considering all of this, Drums still is a good item on Lifestealer. That is the reason it is given in the situational items.

    Why Sange and Yasha for a hard carry?: General and most common way countering of Lifestealer is kiting him, Getting a SnY fixes it.

    Armulet of Mordiggian is not needed on Lifestealer!: Please do not buy a courier the next time you are playing a support.

    Why is Hand of Midas core on Lifestealer?: Coming to the Item Justification on Lifestealer Hand of midas is a very good item to be considered on Lifestealer, Kills a non-hero target for 190 gold and 2.5× experience. Cannot be used on Ancients. Thus giving improved level significance while also the gold advantage, Hand of midas Pays for itself in 11 minutes.

    Combo Fields of the Beast
    *Open wounds -> Rage(basic)
    *Basic -> Infest -> Consume.(Killsteal combo field 1)
    *Infest -> Consume.(Killsteal combo field 2)
    *Infest -> Let initate -> Consume -> basic.
    *Already disabled -> Auto attack.
    *Infest in a creep who is going in the next wave, consume at enemy hero -> basic.(risky)

    Please take a second and rate the guide If you like, it really helps me boost my confidence and create further guides in future. If you have any suggestions and remarks please let me know in comments, I'll see what I can do with it. If you are looking for any other hero builds you can PM me via Steam or comment here. Please note that I'm a carry player and will only write a guide if it is carry role.

This guide is just almost perfect , and all is very well explain !
maybe put the boots of travel for late game item to replace the phase boots , very very usefull if pusher , and with sange&Yasha grant you a bigger speed boost :)

You should always prefer lane because you get way more xp in lane and more farm, especially since Lifestealer is a terrible jungler.

I always go Dagger of Shadow Blade because to initiate with Abyssal Blade later on because of the cast range is too close, we need some sort of "element of surprise" to initiate using that item.

Plus, getting early SB doesn't hurt as it helps boost your +AS too.
If you're getting dagger, the pros is, it is cheaper than SB of course - if you can't make it for SB, change it to Dagger build.

Updated the guide
*Made it simple.
*User Friendly.
*Lot of changes have been done to the ability build as the older version wasn't that good.

That's a better description for Midas. :P Although personally I think a pub player's limit should be about 10-12 mins since most people don't farm like pros and can't get a 5 min Midas.
