Description
Only months have passed since the Citadel towers appeared. The combine have won the war, but they still don't have full control. A scrappy mechanic, held up in her apartment complex, has set up a variety of defences to ward off Civil Protection.

But what is Infestation Control been doing here? It's not like there's been a Xen outbreak...





Map created for the Mab Lab One Room, and is also the first map I've finished. Took limiting the scope to one room, but we got there. So it's probably about as good as most "This is my first map!" maps you've played.

With that in mind, if you've stumbled across this not as part of the One Room, please make your critiques ABSOLUTELY RUTHLESS. No one ever got better by being lied to.

this is an interesting concept i like the map ( the wires are hell) but i got confused when the combine started coming. so yeah love the map

I think there needs to be a warning about wiring, because while somepeople enjoy it, it can be tedious for those who want to get to the action quick.

Haha, you must have managed to play this just before I pushed the updates fixing the text, but the fact the ending made you feel even remotely close to what I intended regardless is honestly all I could ever ask for.

Your main critique is also my main critique, I would have loved to do something akin to the physics traps of Raveholm, but I didn't have the time, or tbh, the skill. I actually only added the grenade chutes because of exactly what you said, the gates didn't really mean all that much, and they still definitely weren't a perfect solution, evidently.

Also, thanks for recording it! It's always fun to watch others play your map, see how they interpret your designs.


Oh yeah that monitor that disabled itself on you is fucking cursed and won't stop breaking in so many ways and I hate it

From arhitectual standpoint radiator should be under window. I liked overall room look and gameplay unique gameplay system. I might have done something wrong, but it didn't seem beneficiary to close any gate, i would have rather let combine gather in in close space and illustrate them with grenades. I feel like if map had some more fun ways to kill combines with booby traps (Soomething like deathrun + HL:A combat) would have been fantastic. Either way I enjoyed it. Screen slowly going black didnt make it obvious that map is ending. Ending music made emotional as I was surrounded by combines with no ammo to fight them with - tragic

Okay, I've updated the text so it should display in the intro and outro. It doesn't scroll like I wanted it to, but at least the intro and outro actually make some sense now.
