Game Mode: Clash Of Nations

Description
Clash of Nations is a Multiplayer fast phased, combat oriented game mode.
Main goal of the mode is to give players fun experience, that doesnt
last 6+ hours. All choices are made to dominate your opponent.
Mod works on vanilla. Many core civilization 6 mechanics were stripped out.
They are planned to be reintroduced to fit the context of the mod.
All aspects of the game that are present were massively changed.
Keep in mind that this is first release, everything can be tuned and changed.
So dont forget to leave a feedback either in comments or
on Discord[discord.gg]

Game Setup

Important: Please turn off other mods, expecially those that change gameplay

I highly recommend using Dynamic turn timer, dynamic turn phase
and map with abundant resources. Multiplayer simultaneous turn combat
is very bad, because host has always advantage in input and style itself
is not really good as turn based combat.

Main Changes
  • Map is revealed on start
  • Settlers cannot be built, cities are placed on start by player
  • Builders spawn in cities, they have 7 charges and using a charge refreshes movement
  • Players cant engage in diplomacy of any sort. Everyone is in peace at start and
    after 10 turns all players (teams) declare war to each other
  • Every player starts with 18000 gold to buy infrastructure and units
  • Every city starts with 7 population
  • Districts are built instantly
  • District cap was changed to 5 so cities with population 7 have 2 districts and cities with 10 have 3
  • No plot has default yields. Only resources and improvements provide yields. But they are more significant
  • Cities cannot station planes and planes were heavily nerfed relative to base game.
  • Units dont require strategic resources. This will change in future, when resource mechanic will be overhauled,
    but I dont like how resources work in base game. Instead units cost more maintenance
  • Units are rebalanced. Recon units have very big deffenses against ranged attacks, but they cannot pillage,
    Artillery units have lower sight range, etc.
  • Pillaging ends movement. This is to prevent toxic playstyles of running around, pillaging without proper response
  • AI players spawn units at start and have have doubled city deffenses because they are dumb
  • Promotions were completely overhauled and fill a reactionary role. For example promotion Desert Fox increases
    damage in desert terrain to satisfy specific situation
  • Technologies were also overhauled and changed. There are 5 trees. Navy, Machinery, Infantry, Air, Infrastructure.
  • Policies were changed too. They are more situational and they dont provide bonuses for exchange of something.
    For example, Scorched Earth damages enemy units each turn when on your territory, but your production and gold
    are massively decreased
  • Encampment and Harbor projects are cheap and provide +10 experience (+20 for germany) for unit standing in the
    district
  • 4 new leaders to fill specific playstyles

I noticed that when playing on hot-seat you can't go to the next players turn after you place the first players first city.

Hello, I noticed that the settlers could not create cities but that the player could place them directly.

Could you create a separate mod allowing the player to place their cities directly, without settlers, to use this feature in other games?:steamthumbsup:

thanks. Yeah I was thinking about france as well. I might add them even before italy, just because im not really sure what bonuses Italy would get. Please anyone that is interested join my discord in description. I would really like to see your feedback and suggestions. :) I was little busy lately, but im already thinking of some improvements and features, so I would love to have someone to comment on it or help me test them

Also France would be pretty cool to add, since you said you plan to add Italy and japan. Would make it feel very much like WWII.

Very Fun! Beat my 1st game in just under 2 hour. Non-stop war always keeps it interesting. Great mod to download, and can't wait to see if more nations get added.

Yes, I would like to add at least Japan and Italy, but will see in future. For now I think these 4 provide somewhat good variation of different gameplay, I think I will rework Churchill, because he seems kinda situational and weak, but you can leave some comment what you think as well. So far I dont have any feedback, and have no idea what should I focus the most
