This mod adds in eight types of constructible servant based on the Amnesia games, each an equally horrifying abomination. The servants are made at an orb table, a new production table. The orb can be acquired from quests, ancient dangers and traders. Once the table is assembled, and the research researched, you can begin your journey of turning corpses into useful servants.

You can also choose to skip some of the first steps by using a new scenario based on the Rich Explorer. Start the game with an orb and a selection of Dark Descent research already completed. Though the cost of this is starting with a single pawn, armed with only a bolt action rifle.

New 'Surgery':
The servants added by this mod will require vitae and orgone to craft. These can be harvested from humanlike pawns, including alien races. Extracting from a pawn will slowly drain them of vitae or orgone. Draining a single pawn too quickly will result in death.

The Servants:
Seven new servants have been added, the Grunt and Brute from 'The Dark Descent', the Wretch, Engineer and Tesla from 'A Machine for Pigs', the harvester from 'Rebirth', and the hound from 'Penumbra: Overture'. All servants, except the tesla, are fully trainable.
  • The hound is the first servant you will unlock. It is a reanimated dog that occasionally displays signs of life, but will mostly stand motionless in one spot. It's saliva is filled with toxic bacteria, inflicting toxic buildup with its bites.
  • The grunt is a fairly basic servant, capable of mining, plant cutting, cleaning filth and flicking switches when trained in guard. Like the hound, it will often stand motionless.
  • The brute is a combat focused servant, and is incapable of performing more complicated tasks. It has innate armour that can be upgraded, and it can be outfitted with four implanted weapons. Like the hound and the grunt, it will often stand motionless.
  • The wretch is a comparatively intelligent servant and is capable of breeding, owing to the addition of pig and orgone. It can refuel buildings and turrets and deliver resources to frames when trained in haul, and can mine, plant cut , cleaning filth and flick switches when taught guard. If a wretch grows too hungry it may turn manhunter. During this state it can incite other wretch and engineer to join its quest for food.
  • The engineer is the most intelligent servant, and is capable of performing complicated buildings tasks. When taught haul it can refuel, rearm and deliver to both blueprints and frames. When taught guard it can repair, uninstall, deconstruct, construct frames and flick switches. The engineer has the same hunger mechanic as the wretch. Note, the engineer cannot construct buildings that have quality levels.
  • The tesla is a combat focused servant designed to fight mechanoids. Its punches inflict additional EMP damage, and when a tesla takes damage it may release a discharge dealing EMP damage. There are several implants designed for the tesla which can be used to upgrade it.
  • The harvester is the only servant that is not constructed, and is instead obtained by having a pawn drink a harvester decoction. Its attacks drain vitae from humanlike targets, which it stores inside its body. This vitae gradually empowers the harvester and can be consumed to avoid starvation. The vitae can also be extracted through a medical procedure. If the harvesters internal vitae remains empty for too long, it will turn manhunter.
  • The goliath is the largest servant, requiring two corpses to craft. It is so heavily infused with vitae that it constantly regenerates wounds, but due to this has quite the hunger. The goliath us purely meant for combat, lacking the intelligence and dexterity for much else.

Additional content
  • Craft alternatives to Luciferium and Resurrector mech serum out of vitae. These have no side effects when used on an orb servant.
  • Turn back the biological clock using Weyer's Tonic.
  • Generate power from vitae using the vitae powered generator.
  • Upgrade brute and tesla with several implants.

End of Support:
There's a lot that could be done with this mod, that I just don't have the time or desire to do myself anymore. As such, I've swapped over to the MIT license. Hopefully someone with enough C# knowledge will be willing to pick up support. Or it may be better to make a brand new mod instead, you're free to use any assets from this if you want.

@Zaljerem, thanks for updating both of those. I hope the code didn't give you too much brain damage.

People say this mode is similar to Anomaly, but honestly, I think it would be really, really cool if this mode was linked to Anomaly.

Is anyone working on updating this? Was panning on using it for my new Anomaly run - those quarries won't mine themselves! :D And if no one is interested, is there a guide on how I can update it myself?

Welp, Anomaly DLC is pretty much adding the Grunts from Dark Descent.
They are called Ghouls but they could be seen as Dark Descent grunts imo.

I might make a funny way to create artificial bioferrite via a certain medical operation :3
