Introduction
Every newcomer wonders which weapon is the most damaging, easiest to control and which attachments to use... Also not every chad knows the difference between some particular guns. So I'm here to enlighten you and share some experience I gained. And remember that this is my subjective opinion.
In both security and insurgents sections I'm going to elaborate on the commander, observer and rifleman roles. Same weapons, but only rifleman role is able to take foregrip bipod(security) and bipod(insurgents). These are the only major differences I found so far.
Security
Rifleman, Commander, Observer
You are offered to take 5 good guns. Some of them might even seem identical...

M16A4
The cheapest gun, so you can take a nade with you while using all of the attachments you want to use. Also it has the smallest vertical recoil. Horizontal is low too. It shoots only with onetaps or burst. Good choice if you want to take some nades or a heavy vest/carrier with you. If you don't, then it's better to choose something different from the guns listed below...

G36K and M4A1
Pretty much the same guns. Same rate of fire, velocity, almost the same penetration (small difference is not that important, you will still need the same 2 bullets to kill) ( also there is a damage comparison I took from reddit, you can find it at the end of the guide). G36K costs less, which again allows you to take a nade or use a heavy vest or a carrier. But there is only 1 minus in my opinion and it's a horizontal recoil (3 points difference). That is why I feel more comfortable with M4A1 at long ranges.

G3A3
Has a higher recoil, smaller rate of fire and a bit more penetration which allows you to oneshot no armor guys unlike any other gun in the class which requires double tapping them. Generally, it is also a good choice.

VHS-2
The biggest rate of fire in the class, costs like M4A1 but has exactly the same horizontal recoil as G36K. Good choice for close quarters but not that good at long ranges.

My preference
I use M4A1 almost all the time because of the good rate of fire and the smallest horizontal recoil as well as because it is good at all ranges. I always use it with C79 scope. I also sometimes take G3A3 for a change.
Breacher
Grease gun
Personally, I don't recommend using it because of its low velocity, low rate of fire and low penetration. But it's very cheap...

M870
Shotty, as powerful as it should be in games. Since there are simply no other shotguns available, what else can be said...

MP5A5 and MP7
Both have high horizontal recoil but MP5 has a smaller vertical. MP7 is winning by looking at its rate of fire, velocity and penetration. Despite the fact that MP7 costs more it has integred grip, so you are allowed to use 2X scope/flash nade while extended mag and supressor/compensator are equipped.

Honey badger
Your absolute favourite in cq. Compared to MP7 it has greater penetration but lower velocity (the worst in the class) and rate of fire (the difference is not that big).

My preference
I prefer honey badger at small or medium ranges which is what I can't say about the long one... And at medium and long distances MP7 is considered the best in the class.
Advisor
MK17(scar) and L85A2
Again we have 2 almost the same guns. The difference is in recoil (scar has the higher one, both horizontal and vertical), velocity (scar has the lower one), fire rate (scar has the lower one number) and penetration (like I said before it gives no difference for TTK). And if every attachment equipped, at the end you will still have the same amount of tickets left (zero, lol), because extended mag for scar costs 2 and for L85 1 ticket. So, it turns out that L85 is a bit better. It also has 5 more bullets in a mag.

MK18
Something between scar and L85, but has the greatest fire rate. Has pretty big horizontal recoil (1 point less than scar has, but it feels like it has at least 3 points more because of a fire rate). Also
kill with MK18 requres more shots (check the photo).

Tavor 7
Not very useful at the moment due its big recoil, but if you fell bored, try this gun, it's challenging.

My preference
I always use L85 or tavor, L85 is the most controllable, tavor is powerful and fun.
Demolitions
Here we have familiar weapons, don't we? :)
Let's move on to my preferences...

My preference
Usually I don't use any rocket launchers while playing security, so M4A1 with grenade launcher and heavy carrier is enough for me. If you need a rocket, use G36 with nade launcher, MAAWS and heavy carrier.
Marksman
M24
Classic bolt rifle, powerful, but has low fire rate and pistol is needed for cq.

MK14
Oh yeah, say hello to insurgency 2014, I liked this thing with 1X scopes. 1 shot needed to kill in the chest, also can be used as a battle rifle in cq, so pistol is not needed ;).

M82A1
A beast for campers. Useless while not mounted. I don't recommend that if you are not a foked camper from bf4.

My preference
I rarely use the sniper slot, but if I do, I use M24 and MK14. I like them both.
Gunner
Galil SAR
You took the role for a real mg, not that parody.

M249 and M240B
We were looking for that, yeah. Both are good mgs, M249 has lower recoil while 2 shots to kill needed. M240B can oneshot, but it's a real beast because of its recoil, also has lower amount of bullets.

My preference
If I play this role, I usually take M249 and do "TATATATATATATATATATATATA" the building with eis.
Rifleman, Commander, Observer
M16A2
Identical to M16A4

AKM, AK-74 and QBZ-03
You don't need those cheeks, caz the next gun is the best.

FAL
Belgian handsome boy, your best friend on all distances. Low recoil, big damage.

My preference
FAL for sure.
Breacher
Sterling
Identical to grease gun, don't you it for a real game, only for fun.

TOZ-194
Identical to M870

UZI
The legend, which is useless in the game, has high recoil, low fire fare.

MP5A2
UZI for normal play, bigger fire rate, less recoil.

AS VAL
A newcomer to the game, small TTK, monstrous rate of fire and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ballistics.

My preference
VAL for cq, MP5 for medium and long distances.
Advisor
SKS
Great gamage, easy to control, but has low fire rate, useless in cq.

AKS-74U
Less damage, more recoil, bruhh.

ALPHA AK
Good damage, VERY easy to cotnrol, the best option.

ACE 52
Almost identical to Tavor, also is a good choice.

My preference
Alpha ak or ace 52, both useful.
Demolitions
My preference
RPG+akm(with scope and nade launcher)+heavy carrier.
Marksman
MOSIN
Bolt action, oneshooting, identical to M24.

SVD
Like MK14, but with no full auto.

M99
Bruh, no no no.

My preference
Mosin or SVD.
Gunner
GALIL
Skip that.

PKM
Oneshots each armour, TATATATA.

MG3
Why am I on a beach and in a bunker? And why the hell are there so many ships and people?

My preference
PKM with 1.5 scope. Shoot everything that moves.

The SVD with extended mags, an aiming grip and an OKP-7 is the best weapon in the game for CQB.

Just to throw my opinion out there for anyone interested:

-> Rifleman: VHS-2 (basically a better MP7), M16A4 (burst with a 2x is insane IMO). For Insurgents I'll stick with the FAL. M16A2 can't mount a 1.5x or 2x optic, unlike the A4 variant, so it lacks in versatility for me.

-> Breacher: Shotguns all the way. The best CQB firearms in the game.

-> Advisor: L85 is superior to the SCAR in every way. Tavor is just a G3 with higher firerate; still doesn't interest me. For Insurgents, Alpha AK or SKS.

-> Marks: Mosin has far better damage than the M24. SVD is objectively the best weapon in the entire game with a one-shot kill regardless of armor. M14 EBR is just a slightly better FAL that can't get extended mags.

-> Gunner: They're all good honestly. Galils are really only useful for Hardcore modes.

-> Demo: I like running an explosive launcher with three frags, because f*ck those campers. Rockets are good too.

Caliber really has nothing to do with armor penetration. If anything, smaller caliber bullets are better against armor.

Chart doesn't include the ASVAL. All you gotta know about it is it's a three-shot kill to the chest regardless of armor. Basically an MP7 but with a third of the range and slightly higher firerate, but also the worst damage of any firearm in the game (nine shots to the foot to kill).

5.56 weapons with 850 m/s velocity (which is about half of them) become a three-shot kill to Heavy Armor (and maybe even Light Armor) at around 40-50 meters.

Light Armor offers better protection against the 9mm weapons at distances greater than about ten meters. Other than that, the only real reason to take Light Armor is to counter the G3A3.

Sterling is pretty god-awful, honestly, especially since you can't run a Compensator to deal with that 18 horiz. recoil. Throw an Ext. Mag and a Comp on an Uzi and you'll do way better. :insfist:

Wow Lonely really? I didn't know that...
A Lonely Prince Aug 6, 2020 @ 12:53pm
Because SMG's and Pistols have a smaller caliber....
