How to Acquire Merc Armour in the Start

I found this little secret many years ago and thought I could share it to be helpful for Stalkers starting a new game.

Purpose of the Guide

There is a mercenary armour in the rookie village in the Cordon. My video demonstrates where it is and how to acquire it.

The merc suit is really good early game. I think the Stalker suit has better stats, but the merc suit is nice, especially if you're still using some of the start armours. Anyway though, good luck and happy hunting, stalker!

Wow... I just recently back to SoC but I rem never found it like in your video. I already at Agroprom Research Institute but I will absolutely try to find it when I decide to go back to the 1st area.

Ok, so each difficulty yielded the merc suit. Perhaps people who find the green suit play an older version of the game. I have some mods on my game, but only graphical. And besides that, I always found the merc suit when I played vanilla.

I believe it is difficulty based. I've only been playing on Master the whole time I've owned the game and always I got the merc suit. However, I have seen comments saying that users have seen the Stalker suit there on lower difficulties. Perhaps swapping the difficulty may yield different results. I will do a test myself.

Sounds good! If the crate still doesn't show, I can try to turn up some info on the internet for you. I recall hearing someone else have the same issue, but things were resolved when they swapped to Master difficulty in the end. In my opinion, I feel like Master is the best difficulty anyways because everyone dies just as easily as the player. It's a bit tough, but once you get better gear it gets really good, and headshots are almost always one-hit kills on anyone.
