~~The Spice Must Flow~~

Adds the Planet Arrakis for you to explore and survive. This map simulates the scarcity of resources on the desert Planet Arrakis from the Dune Series.

Treat the map as a NEW GAMEMODE that brings importance to the placement of cities (especially around volcanoes) and the scarcity of water to grow food. Try to adapt and overcome the harsh environment Arrakis presents, or try to change the environment to your liking, the choice is yours, choose wisely...

Best played on Full Disaster Strength. Do not fear losing pops and tiles around volcanoes. ~Fear is the mind-killer~

Best played with friends, the AI can struggle on a map like this.

*Pro Tip*
Don't be afraid not to settle first turn, it's far more important to find a good spot near a volcano or an oasis.


Sorry, can't quite add the Sandworms :/
but in the novels they were portrayed as a force of nature, life and rebirth. The Volcanoes act in the same fashion.

***Catastrophic Disaster Intensity by p0kiehl:
Will add an additional level of intensity + frequency to volcanoes and other disasters needed to survive this map.


***No More AI World Wonders by 1e00:
Prevents AI from building world wonders, Petra is OP on this map (for obvious reasons) so in MP games with friends + AI this helps balance if Petra building is banned.

Someone else on the workshop has added worms as a resource. Maybe add those in with permission?

as far as map sizes, current focus is to just get the changes to work on the one we have now, though I do want to make other smaller versions later to be posted on workshop.

having trouble trying to figure out modbuddy and getting what changes we already coded to show up in the game. Considering I don't have the original modfile/mapfile on my current computer (og was posted years ago) we may end up needed to start from scratch again :/

Nice map, not enough desert maps in the workshop (as far as I can tell). Please consider having a standard size map in the future!
