"We need a vehical that can travel across that lake."
This comment is just to point out a very minor typo that stood out to me. Again, completely inconsequential. But felt like saying it. Hmm post hasnt been updated since 4y, I guess its final. Well to everyone else, have a chuckle out of it.
I have a link to both (along with the other resources I used for my patch), at my project page [gamesdonelegit.com].
Sorry I haven't been around, I had brain surgery last January lol but everything is A-OK now.
I have "final" versions of both the Purist and WD patches up on RHDN. I'll update them here too when I can!
Ikagura, idk if I answered this, but I made two versions of my project because I had just a few lines that I thought were funny but were a little more "out there". So the Purist has a few lines of dialog removed or altered. But they're 99% identical. It's less than maybe 20-30 lines that are even slightly edited.
I hope that helps! Really happy for the kind feedback! Really happy when folks have enjoyed it! I love this game and hope I've helped people enjoy it a little more too.
It also reminds me how the Online series was tied to the original in the first drafts of the original Dreamcast version because of a reference to Generations of Doom.
Wish Sega could've kept a consistent lore and universe across the saga.
I'll prob make a new thread about this, but a new piece of backstory tying 2 major characters together was discovered in a developer interview in the PHANTA! Phantasy Star 30th Anniversary book.
I think it really ties up the only 2 somewhat weak elements of the plot and makes them mean much more.
So I'm uploading version 6.0 as soon as I can.
Ikaruga, yeah, I added some lore and mostly throwaway lines to make the NPCs dialog less banal. I love Working Designs and my writing preference is similar, so if you like the WD style of localizations, try that. It's my preferred version either way, but I took out many of my additions to the script in the Purist.
Jolf, cool, feel free to give me any feedback on it! I'm always improving it.
