Free Client States

Description
Clients states do not take up a diplo slot.

I personally much prefer to expand by vassalizing rather than map-painting, and in most cases that would also be more historically accurate.
The limited amount of possible diplomatic relations makes this hard to accomplish, so I decided to make clients behave as feudatories in that they don't take up a relation slot.

- Savegame compatible
- Not Ironman compatible

EVERYONE, you can alter this in your own game files.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ImperatorRome\game\common\subject_types

Open the .txt file there.

Scroll to "client_state = {" (without the quotes)
Alter the value of "costs_diplomatic_slot =" from "yes" to "no" (again without the quotes)

MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE SAME FORMAT as the nearby values.

Not sure why people say it's dead... it's working for me on the latest game version?

@Joaquin I think this mod is broken now. I started an Antigonid run on a clean save and as you know they have 2/2 client states from the start. As soon as I add another I get the notification and begin incurring penalties like in vanilla. Can we expect an update eventually or have you permanently moved on?

It does, but they don't tend to vassalize.
