Where to get great weapons in DayZ standalone.

Warning: This guide contains locations of usable weapon systems in game. These areas are now HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS. Proceed at your own risk. This guide will be edited and updated as soon as new information becomes available.

The purpose of this guide is to provide you with accurate locations of current weapon systems and other available aspects relating to weapons. This guide should be used by pressing Alt+Tab in-game to bring a plethora of information to your screen. Major Weapon Locations On the Shore

Although I have seen an increased number of people in this location, I still know that many do not know of this location. The first major location on the map is the Balota Airstrip. This place has a TON of weapons. However, as in previous DayZ mods, there were weapons and loot inside the hangars as well, in this stadalone, there is lttle to no loot that spawns in there. Aside from the occasional small backpack.



However, the ATC tower usally spawns a Mountain Bag and a possible biking helmet on the VERY TOP. Not inside the ATC itself, but rather up the ladder on the roof. Another buillding in this area is the last buidling on the airstrip to the East. Inside you will see a "Jail" of some sort that usually has some boots (Combat) as well as some food. If you go upstairs, you will need to go to the far back wall. This usually yieds 1-4 axes, 1-2 fireaxes, 1 M4 (and if you're really lucky that day, ammo) and some food and meds. This is quite possibly the best place by the shore to be and you can start your journey inland.

Major Weapons Caches Inland

As we all know in DayZ, there are many previous locations that have a ton of loot. However, the many places that we had grown to love in the mod have been changed to different locations, or taken out altogether. Whie there are many places left to explore, there are two main sources inland for weapons. The first being the Grandaddy of all places, the NW airfield. This is pretty self-explanatory and is very similar to the Balota airfield. Many different things can spawn here. The best being the M4 with a few magazines. A revolver has been found by myself here as well, however, very little ammo. Just be very careful, as soon as I had acquired the few weapons I had, I was killed. This just goes to show that you that the previous mentalities that had been present in the Mod still are prevalent in the Standalone.

Other Major Locations and POI's

There are many other Points of Interest (POI's). The first being random helicopter crashes. These spawn all over Chernarus and usually have great weapons in them. However, since there are not too many different things in the Standalone yet, try to avoid them as they are in the open and usually bait for snipers in the area.

You also have the option of going just west of the NE airfield to find a large wrecked cargo ship. Usually containing at least a medpack and a 2-handed weapon, this is definately a place to get good supplies.
However, this is also a great place to be sniped from so be careful.

Due to the large number of people who can't find the shotgun, you cannot find it, because it has not yet been implemented. Ammo can be found but you can't use it.

So far the SKS and the IZH-43 Shotgun are the only two weapons that have been confirmed to be released at a later date. The Standalone will also feature crossbows for silent kills but this has yet to be confirmed by outside sources.

For those of you who can't get the cursor over an item to pick it up, use your head and step near and then press tab to access the "Vicinity" Inventory and then drag it to your bag or whatever.

I have a M4 with bizarre attachments. (CQB stock, RIS handguard, ACOG, tactical flashlight, etc.) Oh yeah, and, does this game have grips? (Not trying to be a CoD fanboy.)

I tried to pick it up but the game had kept refusing. I then thoughtto take a picture. If you hadn't already noticed the red connection icon on-screen, take note of that.

I reckon you just dropped the mosin, if you look at your hotbar its greyed out showing that you already had it. you could have just dropped it there saying that there are loot spawns there doe

I found the military base that has the two bunkers and four ATCs. Still have my Mosin, and trying to find M4 (has 1 10round mag, 2 20rounds, and one dual-mag, 60.)

Yup, I see a south coast line and an east coast line, but I still fail to see the west coast line. "more people spawn on the West coast and therefore may find the ship more often." Isn't the ship on the east coast, or am I looking at the map wrong ?

I have the full map there is no coastline along the west only hills fields and the end of the map. I have circumnavigate the entire map twice now since release.

Where is this West Coast everyone keeps talking about ? The West on my map is cut off, there is no coastline along the West.
