Description
Early Access Apportation
Ever tried Apportation? Exactly, that's my entire damn point. Try this mod to fix that.

Changes
This mod is intended to allow players to access the Aerothurge spell Apportation[divinityoriginalsin2.wiki.fextralife.com] early in the game, so that it actually gets used. If my memory serves correctly, exactly 1 vendor sells it and it can be found in one location otherwise. Which makes it sound remarkably overpowered, and yet it's simply a spell used to pick up items remotely. Not quite the world shattering power you'd expect for that level of rarity, eh?

The book can be found on the table in front of the spawn point on the tutorial deck, simply walk forwards, hold left-alt and use your eyeballs.

Since the above was written, an update was pushed to this mod that has added a lofty FOUR whole new free-to-grab copies to the game.
  • The first copy may be found in Fort Joy can be found on the ground near The Red Prince.
  • A second copy is also available in Fort Joy, though it is guarded by the Crocodiles.
  • Meanwhile, a third copy may be found outside the gates of the first town in Reapers Coast, next to the signboard - having presumably been unceremoniously dumped on the floor by the last wizard disappointed by how basic the spell is compared to its rarity.
  • Finally, a fourth copy can be found on a rocky spire in the waters near where you start the second act, after leaving your ship for the first time, but you'll need either a mobility skill or some way of getting distant items to obtain it...

Want to support the creator?
If you'd like to contact me for something, or otherwise keep up with me outside of Steam, you can typically find most of what I'm up to lately through my Carrd page.[fjarunsigr.carrd.co] Following on any of the platforms in my Carrd would be appreciated, and they're a bit more reliable to contact me through than Steam is.

How can I get help?
If you need help quickly, try contacting me on my Twitter. If you just want to tell me about a potential issue, feel free to use the Steam comments - just be aware that these are slower as the notifications are largely useless.

Do not try to create mod page discussions for help at all. They are by far the worst method, as there is no notification for when one is started whatsoever.

If and when I start actively modding again, I will see what I can do to offer alternative download options. For the moment, this is offered as-is.

An update has now been pushed that includes four new copies of the book, two in each of the first two non-ship based areas.
List before it goes into description:
The first copy in Fort Joy can be found on the ground near The Red Prince.
A second copy is available in Fort Joy guarded by the Crocodiles.

Meanwhile, a third copy may be found outside the gates of the first town in Reapers Coast, next to the signboard on the floor.
A fourth copy can be found on a rocky spire in the waters near where you start this act after leaving your ship for the first time, but you'll need either a mobility skill or some way of getting distant items to obtain it :praisesun:

Momentary lull in my shift so trying to do so now.
Making it craftable would be a lot more work but I can try to add it to more locations easily enough provided the tools haven't changed much, and I do not believe they have.

I'll check the divinity engine in a bit to see if the Apportation files are still cached away in there. If so I'll push an invite adding another copy to Fort Joy. That bit is easy enough to do, just takes 5 minutes. Thought sometimes projects refuse to let me re-open them so lets hope it hasn't reached that stage yet.

Okay, what about something simpler. Could you make it drop in Fort Joy or something? Maybe make it craftable? idk. I tend to skip the ship sometimes, or wish to get it retroactively.

I'm not sure on this one. I don't actually know for sure, but I assume you could create for example a custom geomancer spell or the like that copies the effect.

With that said: changing the apportation spell itself would likely cause issues as it'd overwrite an ability in the game to do so. I'd be surprised if caused anything major as apport is rarely enough mentioned nevermind used, (hence why this exists) but long story short for it to be a viable mod you'd likely want to use Divinity Engine and simply create a new spell + spelltome for it and place it world for that approach.

Not something I have time for lately though.

On the innate front it might be possible to make Apportation innate? But I don't know enough to make a new spell *and* make that innate easily

I know that's not what this mod is for, but since there isn't anything closer I could find I'll ask here. Could we get a version of Apportation that isn't an aero skill? regardless if via skillbook or innate
