General Electric C32-8 Brasil Ferrovias: FERRONORTE

Description
The GE C32-8 or Dash-8 32C is a 6-axle road switcher diesel-electric locomotive built by General Electric Transportation Division having a 12-cylinder GE 7-FDL turbocharged 4-stroke diesel engine producing 3,200 horsepower (2,390 kW). Only 10 of these locomotives were built in 1984. This locomotive and the C39-8 are the first of the Dash-8 series, both models would never be as popular as their later brother the C40-8.

The model represented is a ex-Conrail locomotive, later went to BDLX (Big Dog Lines Leasing) and was eventually sold to Brasil Ferrovias: Ferronorte (Brazil Railways: RailNorth) as 9339.

This locomotive (9339) suffered a short circuit that fried its computer chip set, the unit was moved to the repair facilities of the Ferronorte and became a parts donor to their many second hand C30-7's, it was eventually scrapped on site.
I had the pleasure of catching this engine leading a consist out of Santos harbour yard back when I was a kid, it became a iconic locomotive for me, it being the first engine I ever saw up close (me and my uncle where driving down the road the flanked the tracks, about 5 or so meters from the line), it was pulling a empty grain covered hopper consist along with C30-7A 7205, a Cutrale Quintella unit (another rare loco), and a ex-Burlington Northern C30-7. Later I would learn that I was one of the few to catch this engine running, a very rare occurance.

THIS MODEL IS PAINTED IN THE GREEN AND YELLOW BRAZIL RAILWAYS LIVERY.

ENGINE START-UP PROCESS:
Enter the locomotive cab and turn the two breakers on the engineers side on (Master and Subsystems), exit through the back of the cab, engineers side, and go along the long hood, you should find a key past the little steps, turn on the key to open the engine panel, in said painel again turn on the "Starter Unlock" key, it wil make a beep and unlock the starter button, press the starter button to start the GE 7-FDL-12 V12 prime mover.
Close all door and go to the engineers seat, breaks will be at 100% by default, release them, the pressure should rise to 70psi on the gauge. Make sure your reverser lever is set to 0(forwards). Add throttle.

LOCOTROL/ MULTIPLE UNIT (MASTER-SLAVE) SYSTEM OPERATION:
The engine comes with a master/slave system. The engine is by default the master. In the enginners console there's a key pad "Locotrol Frequency" and two buttons, "Locotrol ON/OFF" and "Locotrol antenna ON/OFF". Set the same frequency on all engines of the consist and all slave (controlled by locotrol) units need to have the "Locotrol ON/OFF" button ON, the master needs the "Locotrol antenna ON/OFF" to be ON.

Features:
- Radio - Track switching system
- Communication Radio
- Anti-wheel slip system
- Locotrol/M.U. equipped (Master/Slave system)
- Automatic Generator System (Will increase engine RPM if battery goes low)
- Large fuel tank (26000L)
- Working lights
- Enginner data screen
- Heaters
- Electric connector couplers
- A bathroom on the auxiliary engineer (Fireman) side with arctic and firefighting equipment.
- Top speed of 108 km/h
- Highly detailed, with correct doors along the long hood, with a 7-FDL-12 engine replica inside. (acessible only through camera as of yet)
