Description
The Orion is a late game large (size class 10) mobile base / cruiser / carrier.

It features a large fly through hangar rear space CV/SV/HV hangar space with a connected front ramp HV hangar space allowing it to accommodate a number of SVs, HVs and even a small CV with 4 of the vessels having direct individual access to the outside through their own hangar doors or the front ramp. There is also a 9x9 external landing pad.

At the rear there is also a docking point for another large CV such as another Orion or the Dragon assault CV.

It is constructed from an outer hull of combat steel which extends to some of the interior where needed, though much of the interior is constructed from carbon composite to reduce mass.

It also features 2 bridges and 2 cockpits:
- Main bridge at the top
- An internal combat bridge/CIC (connected to the main bridge)
- A forward docking/mining cockpit
- A lower aft landing cockpit with a good well lit view of the ground during landing

It is maximally armed with most space only weapons on the top or sides and most planet capable weapons on the bottom (with some on the top for anti-drone defence - Feel free to move these around as required.)

Within the main hangar are 4 advanced constructors and main cargo access along with personal care and repair stations. A full medical facility is on the upper deck.

For RP purposes, there is captain's and crew quarters, mess hall, cafe etc and some crew occupying various stations or on guard duty.

All constructors, cargo controllers, cargo containers and fridges are labelled to assist in easy identification of them with a documented coding (on LCDs in main hangar) scheme to locate them as well.

- Tier 4 CPU compliant level 25 unlock
- 4 x general cargo controller with 320K storage
- 1 x harvest cargo controller with 160K storage
- 1 x ammo controller with 160k storage
- 14 x 16k cargo container
- 4 x 8k cargo palettes
- 9 Fridges (due to several food related areas)
- 7 x Food processor (due to several food related areas)
- 108 grow plots
- 4 x Advanced constructor
- Pentaxid tank, Shield, warp
- Several medical and O2 stations
- Full medical facility
- 4 hangar entrances (1 x 13x7 entrance, 2 x 9x5 entraces, 1 x large ramp entrace)
- Front and rear docking points for other ships and space stations that provide walk through
- Signal switches for various convenient controls including reduced thrust, ground deployment, harvest etc
- Plenty of room for other equipment as needed (for eg more constructors) if existing decos are removed.
- Maximally armed with turrets, weapons and sentries according to Alpha 11.5 limits
- 6 x Mining Laser around nose
- 1 x Tool Turret (upper front)

Upgrades (if EE mod is used)
- 2 x Furnace
- 2 x Deconstructor
- Long Range Teleporter

The front docking point is intended for use with upcoming end game bases and space stations and is the same height from the ground as that on the Dragon CV so docks are compatible.

The rear docking point allows another large CV (such as the Dragon) to be carried by the Orion.

It is perfectly capable of flight within all planet environments, however for fuel consumption reasons, I often leave it in space (with a marker so I can find it again).

For a suitable large landing pad/repair facility, see the RP2 Large Landing pad. There is a planned upcoming specialized service depot ground station for this (and the Dragon) in the works as well.

While this is quite robust and maximally armed for PvE/RP use, it not really intended as a battle cruiser and definitely NOT intended for PvP combat, but more as your main mobile base / HQ in solo or co-op PvE, relying upon docked ships for most combat duties. It is however of course perfectly capably of dealing with POIs.

Yes - everything was updated a few hours after alpha 12 was released.

It was uploaded for 11.5.6 I think back in early April. The latest stable version should be good.

I have been using alpha 12 experimental since it came out, hence why this has not been updated to avoid causing anyone version issues.

It should work with alpha 12 also.

As soon as alpha 12 goes over to the main branch (around middle of this month I think) then I plan to quickly update all of these with alpha 12 versions as there have been changes to many of these blueprints due to changes in alpha 12.

I have not heard of anyone else having issues with this.

I downloaded the mod and when I look at my BP's it says "Wrong Version" which version of the game am I supposed to be running?
