Putt Putt RS

Description
After receiving some requests for the upcoming rally season, I've decided to build one, and possibly more "customer cars".

These vehicles should meet the rules of most competitions like RallyStorm, but as rules are always subject to change, it is entirely up to you to ensure your vehicle is compliant.

With that said, I've taken one of my personal favorite vehicles, the Putt Putt, and turned it into a homologation special rally beast! It is configured for maximum acceleration while keeping its air cooled engine alive. Top speed is around 110 mph (177 kmh). It is air cooled, there is no radiator, and it is set up to run, not quite on the ragged edge of temps, but with around a seven degree margin of safety under normal operating conditions. (Small engines overheat at 120 degrees and explode shortly thereafter.

It is covered in paint blocks, so feel free to paint it and modify it to your heart's content. I would appreciate it if you left the grille and headlights alone, but other than that, you're welcome to do whatever you like, including uploading your modified versions to the workshop.

I wanted to create a pretty solid baseline starting point for you while staying true to the original vehicle, and while it drives and handles as well as you would expect one of my cars to, there are lots of opportunities to modify and adjust it to make it your own. A radiator can be fitted rather easily if you're creative, and there is room for an additional gearbox if you would like to adjust the ratios and possibly increase its top speed. Aero adjustments can be made from the two constant number blocks up front on the hood.

Well, I hope you like it, and if you decide to compete with it, leave a comment and let me know what you think. Good luck!

Wash your hands!

Love, carn1vore

Yep. I'd like to. That's one of many things I've kind of sacrificed to limit the physical size of my microcontrollers. I've been slowly laying the groundwork for an entirely new microcontroller series, so we may see that before long.

Can you make it so the park/drive disengages the clutch?

Ah, thanks I'll fix that!

Not sure if it's intentional or not, but your brake and reverse lights aren't hooked up even though you've got outputs for them.

Very big fan of your cars mate. I really like the original one but this is just perfect.

I suppose it depends if it is more of a European style rally or more of something like a Dakar or Baja. As the rules of Rallystorm in particular mention straying from the road, I would assume it would be primarily on-road. I've tested this car many times over the Sawyer Isle Endurance race course and it holds up just fine.
