Two Families (non-hostile)

Description
This is a really basic mod that just duplicates the Shattered Empire faction so that there are two which you can fight, earn royal titles from, and laugh at.

The Hostile version makes it so the second Empire is permanently hostile and should never send you quests, allowing you to receive quests from the main faction at a normal rate. Do NOT use both at the same time - there shouldn't be any major breakages but only one will work.

I made it for my own use since I didn't see anything similar on the Workshop, and decided to upload it now after a bit of testing.
There might be any number of weird interactions, but I've found some interesting things:
- If you earn psycasts from one empire, the other doesn't consider it legal. Same with the amplifiers themselves.
- The starting deserter and royal chased quests might be both from the same empire, or from different ones. There is, however, one event for each and no more.

If you wanna see both empires start slinging psionics around (like they ought to!) check out Powerful Psycast AI! Two Families includes a patch for incorporating psykers into the second Empire's lineup too.

Have fun!

It causes the wretched "Failed to find faction base tile" error. Does NOT work for me.

@Zerithos XIII

Do you think a patch for medieval royalty is possible? I tried to test it. If you put Families above Medieval Royalty, only the main empire is patched to medieval. But if you put Families under medieval royalty, clone faction wouldn't spawn at all.

So there are two options on how to reach a goal. We can create reprogram medieval royalty to patch both empires. Or we can reprogram Families to clone empire after it has been patched. And I believe the second option shouldn't be difficult.

I'm not saying you need to update this, but I'm gonna see if it works for 1.2 and report back as I made the mistake of doing deserter and now have no psycasters.

Well, I turn off this mod for testing and... on the world map I have two empires xD

there is a mod from Outpost21 that should fix the quest tab problem...

I'll pop out the Psionics compat patch now seeing as the non-hostile version of that is working, even if the hostile one isn't yet. Maybe that'll fix ya, but I don't even see anything related to Two Families in that error log, aside from the inherited minor one from Hospitality (which I'll fix too).

Interesting. I've had the opposite issue before on the Hostile side, where they didn't appear on the map but did in quests and factions. I'll look into it now but decent odds there're too many mods in that list for me to test. Thanks for the log. :Kayto:

Strange but it stop work... on world map there is 2 Empires. But in quest tab and faction tab only one https://gist.github.com/f18411317dbdc491ef64d4d78c199e45

Shouldn't matter. Very much separate mods, even if they do similar jobs. This one just happens to be way simpler and less ambitious :lunar2020sweatrat:
