The Extended Workshop Presents:

Community Curated Characters are the highest quality, most "Rivals of Aether Main Cast-like" that we have access to as a community thus far. These characters have met a rigorous standard and all of the creators have opted-in to this system.

How it Works
Community Curated characters are going to be presumed legal in any and all future tournaments that the Extended Workshop discord server hosts. Additionally it should serve as baseline roster for other groups that want to make a legal character roster for tournaments that they host. The Developers have given us their blessing on this system.

What "Curated " means.
Community Trusted characters have earned their place by meeting a significantly high bar in quality design and balance for their characters. That's not to say the characters are perfectly balance against the main cast, but that they don't have anything about them at the time of their enrollment in this system that is absolutely game breaking. Additionally their art, animations, and overall polish meets or exceeds the standard set by that of a Base Roster character.

These characters will be legal in ideally, every workshop bracket. Additionally they will not be patched as often as other workshop characters. In an effort to give the player base some consistency, each of the creators of these characters have committed to a patch window base system, where they will all be patched near-simultaneously once every 11 weeks during a 1 week window. This will give all of their creators time to move on to other projects while letting the Workshop-Meta develop and give the player base time to figure out troublesome matchups or potentially broken strategies.

That's not to say that these characters wont be patched at all. Bugs will still be patched if they are found, and of creators may occasionally add in new aesthetic details such as new alts or visual elements. The balance of these characters would not be adjusted unless the creator deems a certain style a play completely unintended and patches it out as a bug. (examples of this would be in an infinite combo is discovered or a bug that can be replicated consistently to favor a degenerate play style.)

How can I get my character to be "Community Curated."

In this server you'll find a thriving community that's focused entirely around creating and competing with workshop content. We host regular tournaments and continue to iterate on the systems at play to ensure that the most amount of characters see tournament play so that creators can get the most balance data possible.

The roster for each tournament is always decided by the lead TO. TO's are not obligated to use the curated collection in their roster.
