Description
Removes walls from the game! (mostly)

Tired of fighting siege battles on the exact same walled map with the same buggy gates, easily cheese-able AI, and just having to fight through a slog of a battle with very little tactics/depth? Then this mod might be for you!

I've removed walls from all normal major settlements and from minor settlement garrisons. This effectively removes siege battles from the game.

However, I feel that just removing walls with no other changes dramatically changes the balance of the game, so i've tried to compensate a bit.

First of all, racial capitals still have walls. Settlements like Itza, Hexoatl, Altdorf, Skavenblight, etc. This is partially to help those settlements not fall easily, and also because i'm lazy and its like 20x the amount of work I spent making this mod to include those. Forts and Gates also still have walls.

Major settlements and minor settlement garrisons, the buildings that previously granted walls, now grant a scaling buff to morale, melee defense, and reload speed for any units under siege in the settlement. It goes up to +20 to MD, +20 to leadership, and +40% to reload speed at a Tier 5 major settlement.

Additionally, major settlements have received extra units with their garrisons. Typically a few normal units, and one is always an artillery piece (monsters/cav for VC). This is to help compensate for the lack of walls, every major settlement should have artillery in the garrison allowing the AI to play defensively.

The major settlement garrison buildings have also been granted 2 extra units of artillery for their garrisons to make up for the lack of towers. Now instead of upgrading towers, you get 2 extra artillery units.

Minor settlement garrisons have also received 2 units of artillery, although always the lowest tier ones.

"+20 to MD, +20 to leadership, and +40% to reload speed"

It's way too much for me. +10/+10/+20 at maximum.

People tend to underestimate these statistics...
With +20 md and +20 leadership, a weak skaven fighter become a strong knight. LoL.

But siege is great and epic and a another big part plan of the military life :(
also they are "good"
it's just CA the problem that these incompetent and shameless goblin can't keep upgrading their game and being loyal and respectful isntead of downgrading them for marketing or eve worst twisted purposes .
I mean yeah its lame right now ... but come on deleting it completly instead of trying to fix it ... that's depressing ! ( but modding in tw wh is too limited i guess too F ca )
But if it's you choice then i can't stop you from it i still think tho that even broken it's more fun with than not with it tho .

Siege should be interesting and huge but for that i think it need a REAL IA not AI it would fix a big part while benefit the whole game too then the rest is "easy" ...

I wonder if this is happening because of the 20 unit cap for garrisons & CA's wonky method for selecting which units make the cut?

I'm also seeing the issue where the wall buildings in major settlements don't seem to grant artillery pieces - though the tooltips suggest they should. The mod still removes walls for most settlements though so I'm continuing to play with it enabled.

20 md is effectively tripling ehp for most units against melee, that seems like a lot.

That bonus is only for a tier 5 settlement. And I think it’s a fair buff to compensate for the lack of walls/towers/chokepoints in a siege. I’ve tested it plenty of times and although battles are hard, they are not impossible. This was on VH so maybe on Legendary it’s more unforgiving

Im also supposed to get 3 plagueclaw catapults from the tier 3 garrison building. Neither those nor the Warp Lightning cannon are actually there during combat (started the fight as well - they dont show up)

Is this still working as of right now? I noticed a siege defense in some town in Lustria as Ikit Claw with a tier 3 major settlement + the bonus garrison building at tier 3 (Only a lord in the city, currently recruiting 4 catapults if that makes a difference) and i got 0 artillery pieces from the garrison when defending.
The defending lord is Skrolk after getting him through confederation.
