It works, but beware misclicks.
But anyway I think the reason why it doesn't check this is because there might not be a tag to do so. A tag that says "this item holds other items" or something like that. It's not like the name of a backpack changes once you put something into it, right?
Mod is a bit unbalanced, if you don't have a bag yet, you can convert pillow into a sac (use pillowcase). Or if you don't find a sac, just plain converting backpack into it, but you could IRL pack some dirt into backpack if you needed that.
