Description
It's 1972. There are eighteen million, four hundred and ninety-four thousand, five hundred and seven workers ahead of you in the queue to purchase a Volga.

There are thirty-five million, eight hundred and eleven thousand, four hundred and eight peasants ahead of you in the queue to purchase a radio.

BUT: There are only sixteen comrades ahead of you at the bus stop. Maybe life's not so bad after all.

@rat: yeah, but the radio's a lot cheaper, see. Buying the car is expensive; buying the ability to listen to someone tell you you can have a car in ten years, that's a lot less of a hit to the wallet, and it's still car-adjacent so it counts towards the five-year plan.
