You need more Storage? Here you get the Basic-Infos.

Well, after short Time, you will get a Problem, with your Storage.

At the Begin, you can create Wooden Chests with a Capacity of 20 Stacks.
A small but usefull Item at the Begin of the Game.
A While later, you need more Storage, so you build more Chests.

If you not want a Chest covering on your complete Area, you need an Upgrade.

Actual, there are 6 Ways to store Stuff.
I ignore Furniture in this Guide, because they are to Big or havn't enough Space.

1. Your Inventory
You start with 16+8 free Slots in your Inventory, but you can expand it up to 120+8 Slots (the "+8" are the Hotbar).
Every time you buy a Expansion, you get an whole Row of 8 new Slots.
Every Row cost around 50% more as the row before.

The Prices are:
1. 24 Slots - 400 Gols
2. 40 Slots - 900 Gols
3. 48 Slots - 1300 Gols
5. 56 Slots - 2000 Gols
6. 64 Slots - 3000 Gols
7. 72 Slots - 4500 Gols
8. 80 Slots - 6800 Gols
9. 88 Slots - 10200 Gols
10. 96 Slots - 15300 Gols
11. 104 Slots - 23000 Gols
12. 112 Slots - 34500 Gols
13. 120 Slots - 51800 Gols

2. Wooden Storage

Not Buy, cost 48g

3. Metal Storage
Need Worktable V2
Holds 30 Slots
Complicated Building (1 Strengthened Glass, 2 Bronze Plate)
Not good Moneymaker (Material 154g - Sell 170g)
Not Buy, cost 680g

4. Helper's Storage Box
Need Worktable V3
Holds 60 Slots
Easy Building (2 Steel Plate, 2 Iron Wood Plank)
Not good Moneymaker (Material 288g - Sell 318g)
Cannot be purchased

5. Safety Box
Need 30 Item Donation at the Museum for the Blueprint
Holds 60 Slots
Medium Building (8 Manganese Steel Bar, 2 Steel Plate, 3 Copper Bar)
Not good Moneymaker (Material 445g - Sell 491g)
Cannot be purchased

6. Factory Storage
Need Space of 12x21 Squares fpr the Level 1 Build
Holds 300 Slots
Automatic Building, if Assembly Plattform on Level 3
Allow ordering Items without the needed Parts (will be build if Parts are avaiable, not working vor Assembly Station)

Because Gols are low at the Begin, other Storage Upgrades are cheaper.

I just can tell for myself, but I recomend, to ignore Metal Storage and Safety Box, just jump from the Wooden Box to the Helper box.
The Materials are Cheap and easy to get and a Helper Chest replace three Wooden Boxes.
You can build one or more Safety Boxes, if you have an Helper (Spouse, Ack) on your Area, if you want to keep something away from the Helper.

For myself, I use the Factory for every Machine I can place in the Factory and some Helper Boxes for Artifacts, Food, Healing Stuff, Weapons/Tools and Clothing.

Good Idea: Made 3 special Boxes one for actual Crafting Material (if you havn't the Factory, one for prepared Comission and Quest Items and 1-2 Boxes for Stuff you collect for sale, while you wait for the Sell Bonus around 120%.

If you still ned more Space, there's an Mod, called "Remove Stack Limit".
But be carefull, if you use it and remove the Mod later, be sure every Stack is split on a maximum of 999 or you will loose everything above this Count.
No Autosplit, the Stacks will be resetted on 999, so if you have 7000 Iron Bars, you will loose 6001

Factory Storage is the outside Storage Access of the Factory, a Building where you can add your Machines.
It reduce Lags by adding them in an own interior Level, all Machines are atached on one single Fuel System and use all the same Inventory and you can access it from the outside.

Helper Boxes allow NPC access on this Boxes.
I have no Helper on my Save, so they are good.
If I remember right, I have an Mod in use to allow high Stacks of 9999 or so and I have add all Craft Stuff in the Factory, who is an interior Cell and keep the Noice and Lag away from the Outside World.
I realy should finish my Game someday. it is already waiting much to long.^^

I know this is an old guide, but I'm reading this and I'm curious... if you build a bunch of helper boxes, and you get married or get Ack on your farm, then you can't really use these unless you want them messing around with your ingredients? Also, the Metal Storage Box isn't that difficult to build, once you get into doing inspections, you get 4-6 Tempering Liquids per week and you only need 1 to make a box and bronze plates... by then you have an industrial cutter and probably an industrial furnace too, so the bronze plates are something you can just set and go to bed and they'll be ready in the morning.
