Hi welcome to my second guide, since the first guide suddenly got a lot of attention i decided to make a second one, so enjoy!

What is the He177?

The He177 full name is the Heinkel 177-A5, it's a rank 4 german heavy bomber. The He177 is great at destroying bases with it's massive payload. The He177 has great armament with It's 2x20mm cannons and 4x13mm machine guns and an extra 7.92mm machine gun in the front, these guns are very dangerous in the right hands. One of the biggest downsides of the He177 is sadly it's repair cost is almost 30K silver lions fully spaded, so this plane ain't cheap.

Development of the He 177 began in 1936 as part of the Bomber A specifications issued by the German Air Ministry (RLM). The specifications called for a long-range, high-speed bomber with a payload of 1,000 kg. Despite the very demanding specifications, Heinkel began working on a mockup which was submitted for review in late 1937, with an order for 12 experimental machines following shortly after in early 1939. However, throughout its development, the He 177 suffered from a range of problems, some of which weren’t even fixed before further development stopped. For example, one of the requirements (which was soon rejected, since it was impossible to implement) from the Air Ministry was the ability to bomb from a dive, that’s why the engineers had to make various workarounds to provide the required flight technical characteristics. To reduce aerodynamic drag and to ensure flight range, two DB 601 engines were installed in pairs on one gondola and worked with a common shaft which rotated one four-bladed propeller. Thanks to this it was possible to create the aircraft using a two-engined scheme. But for this reason, the vehicle suffered from severe engine overheating issues and more often than not experienced mid-flight engine failures and frequent fires. In the process of fine-tuning the aircraft, the weight was significantly increased, so it became necessary to install a massive frame which could not be hidden - a relatively thin wing or tightly packed nacelles wouldn't fit. As a result, each frame was divided into two racks, each with a single wheel that could be retracted into the wing on opposite sides of the nacelle.

By 1944, development of the He 177 was considered finished, but by that time, the fortune of war had already turned on Germany and the need for a complex strategic bomber had faded. Nonetheless, over 1,000 He 177s were produced across several variants, with most machines seeing action on the Eastern front. However, despite being made in large numbers, the aircraft ultimately failed to make a difference in the war’s outcome as its design maturity came too late, although some of the built vehicles were also used after war’s end.

How to use the He177 in RB

The He177 is a bomber that I find a lot of fun to play, there are 2 ways I play this bomber and it all depends on my team.


1) Before the game you should always make sure you have the right payload, I use the the payload with 2xSC1800 and 6xSC500, this plane doesn't really have the best payload to destroy small bases because with this biggest payload you have to use 2xSC1800 for 1 base even though you only need 1 SC1800.



2) As soon as the game has started i press tab to see how many bomber there are in my team:

if there are 2 or more, I simply ping the airfield and start side climbing.
Or
If I'm the only bomber or there's only 1, I ping one of the bases and start climbing while staying inline of the base.


3) It doesn't really matter which options you chose after this because there almost the same for the next step, just fly to the base and when you're there drop the payload (in case of a base drop enough to destroy the base and turn to the enemy airfield). After dropping the payload turn around and head back to base, this plane is made by germans so it can go up to 600 km/h without ripping it's wing.

What to do in case of an enemy fighter

So you are playing the He177 just like i told you, you're flying towards an enemy base put suddenly there's a fighter on your screen what to you do?

1) DON'T PANIC! Whatever you do don't do weird maneuvers, It will only get you more trouble.

2) stop climbing, your plane can go fairly fast the are probably still climbing so straighten out and try to fly away, while flying away you should shoot at the enemy so he might get scared and try to find a different target, or even maybe get a kill.

3) if the enemy comes from above or he is incoming with a lot of speed press T+4+2, this will alert your team that you need cover and hopefully someone will try to help you before it's too late.

4) if no one is coming to help you and you're on your own, the easiest way to get a kill on the enemy fighter is to get him directly behind you, you have enough armament on the back to easily kill enemies.

5) Don't give up, this thing is a beast and it can takes some hits, lost you're rudder no worries, just try to get back to base or wait for help from friendlies.

Why should i play this plane?

Because it's fun, bombers are the most relaxing way to play, you just point and go, it can of course sometimes be a little frustrating when there are a lot of enemy fighters but if you squad up with one or 2 friends you already have a way higher survivability. After a good game i normaly get around 5K to 15K research points and about 30K silver lions.
