Welcome to the Undead Horse Mount Mod workshop page. To start off, the assets contained within this mod, are not mine. The fully completed Undead Horse mesh that you will soon find yourself riding on was completed by Funcom's artists. It was even made available to testers at Twitchcon when Funcom had an early build of the mount system to showcase.

For x,y,z reasons, this completed asset was cut from the vanilla game. However, as Funcom often does, they made this asset available for modders to use via the Dev Kit (as they have done with lots of unreleased assets). I personally was really looking forward to the Undead Horse, so I wanted to make sure that I made it available on day one of the new mount system for players to enjoy.

All the credit in the world though goes to the Funcom team. The mount looks and works great, and I'm sure players will enjoy riding this mount.

General Description

I made this mod with the intention of making it as true to it's original intent that I could think of. Meaning, this mod is made in how I envisioned the vanilla setup would have been done (though I did allow myself a tiny bit of creativity). The Undead Horse stats are the same as the other vanilla horses in the game (moves at the same speed, for example). It uses the new RNG leveling system, as you would expect. Finally, the perks you will find are the same as the other Horses as well (though I might change or add to this later after things have calmed down from the big patch period).

How to Acquire (Exile Lands)

Vanilla wise, I imagine that the Undead Horse would have been made via Witch Doctor crafting methods. But honestly, that felt a little too easy to do.

If you want to figure out how acquire and create the Undead Horse on your own, consider the below as spoilerific.


To acquire the Recipe for the Undead Horse, you must visit the King's Niche and kill The Tortured King within. The recipe will drop upon his death.

How to Acquire (Isle of Siptah)

For the Isle of Siptah, I set the drop to the loot tables of "The Slaughterer." I found this NPC in the SpawnDataTable ( a table that lists all the NPC's in the game). I don't actually know where it spawns at this time, I just know the monster is somewhere on the map. I will update this when somebody is able to report back of it's location.


The recipe unlocks the Dark Stables, which you can create the Undead Horse in. The ingredients for the Undead Horse are:
  • 1 Foal/Sturdy Foal/Swift Foal
  • 10 Corrupted Bones
  • 25 Putrid Meat

Once you have them all, you place the ingredients into their appropriate slots in the Stable, and after some time, your Undead Horse will appear in the Stable for your use.

Diet and Stable Resource Generation

The diet of the Undead Horse is the same diet as the various Witch Doctor undead pets.

As far as the what resource is generated in the Dark Stable, I thought it make sense and be fun for it to generate Raw Ash. There is one other little secret with regards to the horse generating resources, but you will have to figure that one out yourself.

Any Future Plans?

I don't have any other plans in mind for the mod. This mod is meant to be a vanilla extension so that it can be used on a variety of playstyles and mod lists, along with keeping the resource demands low. I'm not saying I won't tinker around with other ideas in the future, but if I do, it will continue to be along the lines of a "vanilla plus."

Update Policy

Conan Exiles, as with many other games with mod support, can sometimes suffer from when mod authors decide to no longer update or abandon their mods. Since April of 2018, I have maintained that I will always keep my mods updated and available, and I do take that responsibility seriously.

Along with that commitment, is my desire to grow and improve all my mods. Sometimes my vision differs from the players that use my mods, and sometimes changes are done because of player input. Inevitably, an update will eventually come for one of my mods whenever necessary, whether that is bug fixes, improvements, or new features. What is unexpected is the volume of negative comments that I receive with every update.

Here is my update policy. The world is a 24 hour world, and when I update a mod, it may not match when your server happens to restart. I cannot control that, everybody has different update schedules. Neither am I able to control when you receive a mismatch error, or have issues downloading the mod. Mod authors have NO CONTROL when issues between you, Steam, or your server occur. At the top of this workshop page is the most common troubleshooting steps I can suggest you try, but outside of that, I cannot provide any further support.

I am committed to making my mods the best that they can be. But I need you to also be on board with helping me achieve those goals, and to be flexible whenever a mod update is planned. Please keep this in mind when leaving feedback.
