Carl Chudyk's Aegean Sea [Scripted, with Optional Enhancements]

Description
Aegean Sea is a card-driven wargame by designer Carl Chudyk. Set in ancient Greece, players take on the role of one of 5 major city-states: Athens, Sparta, Rhodes, Ephesus, and Crete. Players will vie for control of several islands in the Aegean with the ultimate goal of bringing home valuable Goods to secure their dominance of the seas.

This mod includes scripting for tucking cards! Script is based on greenleafy0's scripted Mottainai mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2515498259

UPDATE 6/9/23: Pushed the (probably) final version featuring an automated setup menu with scripting courtesy of nightbreez! The blue buttons will automatically generate inner islands, deal starting islands, detect the first player and deal appropriate numbers of cards to each player, and then you'll be good to go. New very big table also courtesy of nightbreez. If you don't want automated setup, just click the "skip" button!

On loading, there will be a menu board with two buttons: Basic and Enhanced setups. Basic setup will give you only the components that would be included in the physical game (well, except a couple) and attempts to mimic the physical play experience with minimal additions; Enhanced includes additions from packrat1984 (thanks!) to make for a more TTS-friendly experience. Both versions include card management scripts.

Islands and Homes are locked in place - you can reposition them before you start, but once things are tucked, don't move them. If you do move any of the mats, they will automatically lock in place when you go to drop them; if you do unlock a mat (Home or Inner island), PICK IT UP AND THEN DROP IT - the script will lock it at the appropriate elevation, and it needs to be elevated for tucking to work.

Drop a card onto a Home or Island mat, and buttons will pop up allowing you to tuck the card in an appropriate location. To remove a card, mouse over and unlock it - the remaining cards will automatically rearrange themselves. Also includes buttons to lock a card as a Quest or an Island, depending on where it's dropped.

Buttons appear when a card collides with the *mat,* so if there's a card in the middle of a mat already, detection will work better at the edges of the mat. Just a little finicky thing. Some buttons also seem to disappear if you reload the game with ctrl+z - no idea what that's about, will try to fix.

You can only add one card at a time - if you drop a stack of cards on the mat, it will move them all as though they were a single card. It's a minor nuisance but I might see if I can figure out a workaround at some point.

Inner Islands track and report Vainglory to the description of each mat. Script will automatically discard everything at the island when you exceed the Vainglory limit. Do not anger the gods!

Aaaand update pushed. You will now see a UI menu when you start up that will enable automated setup. Make sure all players are seated and have chosen colors, and then click either "Original" (just the basic Aegean Sea components) or "Enhanced" (TTS-specific stuff from packrat84); in either case, the game will automatically generate inner island mats, deal starting islands, determine the first player, deal the appropriate cards to each player, and enable turns!

If you don't want automatic setup, just click "Skip" and you can mess with components directly. Happy gaming!

OK, figured it out. For some reason, hands are disabled by default - I probably unchecked it during some update. Go to the Options menu, select Hands, and then check "Enabled."

I'm working on a larger update, so when I push that, I will fix this issue. Sorry for the delayed response!

I'm making some updates today, so I'll take a look and see what's going on! You should just be able to mouseover the deck and press a number key to draw the corresponding number of cards.

Hello. We tried a 2 player game (basic setup) and we couldn't draw cards to our hands. Is there a special way to do it?

Yes, the cards are sideways because of how the decks were imported. You should be able to use Q and E to rotate them into the orientation you need, both on the table and in the zoomed view, and I believe the game will remember the setting.

I think you said discussions over on BGG? The cards are displaying sideways for me? When I try to correct them to landscape they display upside down? Could you accept my friend request?

Hi man, can you update the mod? Seems like it's broken.
