What I do criticize is never ever go Tonk Japan it's just not a smart decision becuase will they work in Indian mountains or EI jungles?
and you dont have the Industry to support them I mean you need to mass produce carrier fighter 2's and so on, so really you dont have the industry to support it especially when you go navy Japan.
Land Focused Japan is really the only option you have I mean your job is to distract the Allies long enough so Gormany can kill Soviets, so breaking Malay and Raj will not only take all the resources but this will also create pressure for the Allies, so you really need a strong Land and Air army to break the Allied defences.
Naval Focused Japan has a lot of different opinions on how it should operate so I cant really give an exact strategy for them but just remember that you have Kamikaze which can destroy a US fleet and also remember that sometimes the US will go trade interdiction 300 cruisersub2 -10%visibility and fuck you up
